With a name that means "cozy or nice atmosphere, but also belonging and general togetherness," gezellig invites guests to experience an elegant menu of local, seasonal cuisine using french techniques in a casual and welcoming environment. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, gezellig prepares each menu item using high-quality ingredients purchased locally. On the menu are items such as seared scallops, braised beef shortibs, potato gnocchi, beef tartare, duck breast, and wild-caught lingcod. Our classic butterfinger for dessert is a staple that has been on our menu since opening in 2012

This is one of our semi-regular destinations. The food was good and the service was attentive. My wife asked about a $48 bottle of Pinot Grigio which our server said was no good and offered a $95 Trebbiano instead. I/we were ok with the Trebbiano until I realized the price and I suggested we find we order the $65 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc instead - still not cheap, but it was very nice.

Sommes allés pour le lunch. C'était très bon, service en Français, cordial, relaxe. Focusés sur le client pour donner au client une belle expérience agréable. Accessible aux personnes en chaises roulantes. Personnel très aidant. Hamburger savoureux de qualité, frites chaudes et croustillantes et Le dessert biscuit-gâteau était fabuleux avec un excellent capuccino ! Merci !

We had a great evening out at Gezellig. This is our 4th visit over the years. The menu was lovely with many options. Our server assisted us in wine selection and we were not disappointed. I had the duck which was amazing and my husband says the salmon was delicious. Gezellig is tried and true for us and we will come again.

Our braised short rib was dry and chewy. Everything else was divine. We really enjoyed our evening. Thanks. Just thought you should know.
