   We had a lovely time celebrating valentine’s day with a nice dinner at gillray’s steakhouse. The meat was perfectly cooked and the service was great! Would recommend to anyone who likes to have a little bit of luxury.

   Excellent location, ambiance and food. The staff were kind, knowledgeable and quick to attend the table. Food was perfectly cooked and great flavours throughout. Excellent drinks selection; one of the best I have seen. As a bonus, the location of the restaurant gives a great view of the sunset with Big Ben and the northern side of the Thames.

   We booked a table for 2 on Saturday at 5.15pm. Waited just in the entrance as told, realized no one was taking any notice so we walked in ourselves. 10 minutes later we were asked for our order. We hadn't been given any menus. Piles of dirty plates, food and crockery left on the counter top which was behind our table. More staff than guests here by the way. Staff everywhere, doing what, I could not tell you. My boyfriend actually said "we've been forgotten". Menu finally arrived, no one talked us through it, nothing. I ordered the beef & tomato salad, my partner the rib eye & chips. THE simplest order ever. Plates are still staking up on the side, staff everywhere but no one still seemed to be doing anything. And plates and plates and plates of these little jars of sauces just everywhere you looked. 15-20 minutes later I was offered a steak knife, out of the blue 'which knife would you like", I replied I didn't think I needed a steak knife for a salad, he said nothing and vanished, odd. Food came but no chips with the rib eye. We asked for chips 3 times, after waiting 10 mins, a chap said he was going to get them and then went the opposite direction. After 15 mins I asked another chap, by which point the steak had been eaten (it was ok). He came back with the chips after 20 seconds, not sure where they were from. But the 'triple cooked chips' were luke warm, sweaty and looked grey. The rib eye was long gone at this point and my salad was gone. Then another member of staff came over AFTER we had finished and said "is everything ok with your meal" - I was either going to laugh or cry at this point. I said it was awful, and he walked off. We just wanted to leave (the dirty plates are still piling up by the way). We were then presented with a bill with everything included, service charge, chips, the lot. I asked for it to be removed and it was but seriously?! Another restaurant claiming to be the best - it's run by kids who don't have a clue. DO NOT GO HERE!

   Every time I am in London I come to this stake house with great expectations because it has always been wonderful. Not this time. It wasn’t the same and my martini was returned and my Cesar salad was tasteless. This is no longer the same place that it was years ago

   The steak was fabulous, the chips whilst nice a very measly amount. We ordered extra sides of green beans and cauliflower which were really tasty but came out lukewarm. All in all the food was agreeable but not very hot….the staff whilst welcoming all seemed a little confused as what we ordered. Too many trying to take the order it seemed. Value (we were on the deal offer) so it was a good deal. The steak itself was delicious

   Great place Staff could not do enough for us. Visit with friend in a wheel chair. Staff went out their way to ensure we could get access via different entrance.

    I would always take a friend who has not visited Gillray's Steak House as I know they will be impressed and thoroughly enjoy the experience.
