GIOIA, Italian for joy, is an Italian restaurant focusing on the cuisine of Emilia-Romagna in Oyster Bay, New York.
At GIOIA, we believe that joy & pasta should be shared around the table, often and with love. Chef Jesse Schenker celebrates the beauty of simplicity by focusing the menu on seasonal vegetables & handmade pasta dishes.

At GIOIA, handmade pasta, classically-focused Italian cocktails and warm hospitality come together to create a JOYOUS dining experience, whether it’s your neighborhood spot with friends, a family dinner or a late night amaro.

This was our second time and Gioia and it was just as amazing as the first! The service is excellent. We loved the Spritz Cart that they bring to the table. The pasta dishes we got were SO delicious and you can’t miss dessert! Can’t wait to come back.

We arrived for our 7:30 reservation after waiting 2 months for a reservation. After ordering drinks we were told by the waitress that they had no chicken and no shrimp. I’m not sure how that happens on a Friday early in the evening but ok. We were all disappointed. Fish special was Branzino which I was told would be filleted with no bones. I asked that they cut the head and tail off and they refused saying she’d bring me a plate and I could do it myself. Not great customer service. Fish arrived filled with bones. Friend’s pasta was extremely small portion and the salmon was a child sized portion. Appetizers were delicious. We are huge fans of 2 Spring. Gioia missed the mark big time.

I don't normally leave reviews but my experience at Gioia warrants one - The entire staff went above and beyond in every aspect of the evening. The food was so delicious that I have already made another reservation to return. What a GEM

Sorry, Gioia , but that was a miss. Slow service, over-seasoned dishes, and cold food? Not exactly the trifecta I’m looking for. I had a decent meal here a few months back, so I figured I’d give it another shot—but my luck ran out. This place really dropped the ball. I won’t be back, and I suggest you save your time and look elsewhere. Two hours of the best part of my week gone for nothing.
