   The roasted chicken is the sole reason to come here. That is the only thing that’s good that we ordered. The pizza is not good at all. The dough is similar to plain white bread with a hard crust and sauce sweet and not tasting authentic. The appetizer portions/small plates were just that for too much money. This is more of a college joint than a place that belongs in little Italy of New Haven. For 6 the bill was over $500 with tip included.

   Delightfully interesting menu. Tasty pear cocktail at good price. Large portions on entrees so half portion of pasta was perfect size. Nice service.

   We love Gioia. We went for the Valentines Day weekend menu. The service was great, the cocktails were delicious. I had the Lamb Belly for the first course. We ordered the Branzini for two for our main course. it was a mistake. It was flavorless, and not enough for two people. I was so unimpressed with the flavor, I just let my partner eat the rest. He also said he would never order it again.

   Wonderful place - amazing drinks, inventive food. Occasionally the food has been a bit more inventive than tasty, but I can count the times that has been an issue on one hand - really a great new(er) spot in New Haven - ALSO THEY HAVE A PARKING LOT. Great service, chefs that know what they are doing, and wonderful drinks. Very much recommend.

   As always Gioia for the WIN! I invited 5 friends to celebrate my 65th birthday at Gioia. Only one other had ever dined there before. Gioia now has 4 new "converts" after a superb meal, friendly servers and delicious desserts.

    My first experience at Gioia was exceptional. Our party of 5 managed to sample a goodly portion of the menu and were not disappointed in any way. We will be back for sure
