Giotto is a quaint family-run Italian restaurant tucked away in New Oxford Street and open since 1996.
Sitting nicely in the city, Giotto is quite close to Covent Garden and within close proximity to the main theatres of the west end like Shaftesbury and Dominion theatres and the British museum – offering peaceful and relaxing settings to guests away from London’s heavy hustle and bustle. The name Giotto is of Italian origin meaning “pledge of peace”. This appealing Italian name is also associated with the great Florentine painter and architect Giotto di Bondone, a major force in the Italian Renaissance. The menu is a melting pot of classical Italian cooking: from delicious antipasti, to stone baked pizza and freshly made pasta produced by our passionate kitchen team, whom have over 15 years’ of experience. Good food, needs quality wine, that’s why our dedicated staff travel to Italy on a regular basis to visit winery and to learn more on how they are produced and sourced.

Lovely Italian restaurant. Classic menu. Delicious pizzas. Quick service and only 5 minute walk from the Dominion Theatre. A little pricey, £60 for 2 pizzas, 2 cokes and 2 teas! Pizza was yummy though!

Booked a table for 2 for my birthday celebration. When we arrived there wasn’t a table available so put us on a table for 6 next to the toilet every 5 minutes bang bang. Waitress asked if we wanted water and asked for our drinks order my partner ordered a beer and she walked away without taking my drinks order. When she came back I told her I wanted to order a drink. Then bang bang the toilet door again so we asked to move. We got a table for 2 we sat down one of the legs on my chair was broken and the table was completely wobbly so they put a menu under it. We then order our food. My partner asked for no squid. Our starter was lovely but our mains had to be sent back. Mine was hot in the middle and cold on the edge. My partners dish had hardly any fish in it. Second mains come out and they was fine. Hour and half later it was time to leave for the show and had no time for desert. They also keep leaning their arms across while eating and removed our starter before we finished. Would I return NO!!!!

Pre-theatre dinner at a busy restaurant. Very good food and easily accommodated our dietary peculiarities, e.g. no garlic in the prawn starter. Service good, although the waiters did go mysteriously AWOL when we wanted to pay - they're not alone in that though, we get that in a lot of restaurants. Overall, a really good experience.

Unfortunately they seemed not to have our booking, and they scrabbled to arrange a table( outside the toilet). Staff seemed to be struggling with being friendly. Towards the end of our starter, a waitress leaned across a guest who was still eating to clear a plate! She seemed nonplussed when we informed her that was potentially rude and just mumbled she was a new starter, clearly a lack of training. The food surprised us as it was a total contrast to the service, tasty and well presented. Costs are a little higher than nearby Soho,as a comparison. We felt rushed when the bill appeared immediately after we declined desserts. Overall not a great experience.

Fast service good choice of food and drinks. Prices were reasonable given its London. Would go back again

Staff arguing behind bar loudly, dressed inappropriately like just they had wandered in from the street, looked liked they were unhappy and didn’t want to be there. No Ambiance, place looked tired and in need of a good clean. Food was tasteless had bruschetta and the sourdough bread was soggy and crumbling like it was old. Had pasta which was disappointing taste, not a good experience at all.
