   We enjoyed an early Saturday evening dinner. The oysters were delicious, the scallops and kingfish starters yummy. The steak/frites was done medium rare with skinny crisps fries just as they should be. All paired with wines that went wonderfully with the food (albeit they are pricey $$$).

   We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Gitanes while celebrating our dinner as newlyweds. The Food & Service were exceptional, and we were treated like royalty. A very memorable evening we will cherish forever!! I highly recommend them for your next dining-out adventure.

   Dining at Gitanes is always a delightful experience, beginning with a warm welcome at the door. The dishes are creative and delicious. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and thoughtful about accommodating any allergies. We enjoyed the Endive Salad and the Halibut Cheeks Piccata as tasty and generous starters which could easily be shared. Followed by the Thursday night special steak frites, adding the shaved black truffle on top which smelled and tasted delicious. The duck breast was very tasty and the addition of the Pommes Aligot was decadent. And although we didn’t think we had room for dessert, the pot au chocolate with madeleines was irresistible. Highly recommended for a night out.

   Our first experience at Gitanes was fantastic. Andrew, our server, was excellent and the food outstanding. Thank you for this nice discovery...we will be back for sure!

   La plus part des énoncés à la carte ne sont pas les bons par exemple le fameux aligot (purée qui doit contenir de la tomme) et juste une purée normale sans particularités. Le homard qui doit être servit avec du caviar n’en n’avait pas. Il est impossible d’avoir du pain il faut opter pour une focaccia au fromage à la carte. Les portions sont petites et le rapport qualité prix n’est pas au rendez-vous malheureusement

   Gitanes is not the place to enjoy fine dining if you are looking to celebrate a special event. You are expected to enjoy your cocktail, appetizer, dinner and a bottle of wine in a two hour window. Basically, guzzle, eat then leave! Prices do not reflect a fine dining experience. Server was passionate about his job without being hovering. He certainly knew the menu. Our appetizer of 3 Halibut cheeks was not as tasty or delicious as recommended by the server . The Focaccia bread was so overbaked and dry that it could not be cut with a knife. My main, steak frites was a tough, chewy flank steak that was barely edible. The second dish...duck was the best of the experience. It was tasty, prepared properly and very enjoyable. We were celebrating a special event and decided to enjoy an evening out until we were told our table was no longer available and we would have to move. Since no tables were available we were moved to a table outside the entrance to the kitchen and bathrooms. Our server abandoned us as he now had a larger party to attend to..more money in his pocket? As an appeasement we were offered an espresso at the bar. We declined the "cup of coffee." Needless to say, what was to be an expensive celebratory evening out urned into a sad state of affairs! Will we recommend Gitanes to others or return...most likely not.

   The entire experience was outstanding. The wine pairing perfectly complemented each course of the tasting menu. Great ambience.
