Gjelina is a restaurant that serves locally-sourced, produce-forward food with menus guided by conversations and long-standing relationships with farmers, local ranchers, fishermen, and co-ops. Our first location Gjelina LA in Venice Beach opened in 2008 becoming a staple in the local community. We are currently open for lunch, brunch, and dinner services.

Think labneh on toast with grape jam and sea salt, pizzas topped with confit tomatoes and smoked mozzarella, and salads studded with burrata and honeynut squash.     My second time there and seated at the bar upstairs. Buckwheat banana bread to start, followed by the frittata. Delicious. Very happy with my selections. Of course I hope to return again!

    Food was incredible!!!!!! However the service was super impersonal, rushed, as if the staff was not trained in hospitality. Despite having made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and noting it was for a special birthday, they tried to seat us at this extremely uncomfortable double 2 top bistro table directly behind the hostess stand in a windtunnel behind the front door. We had to wait 30 more minutes to be seated in a more comfortable spot upstairs for our celebration which made me feel awkward as the host of the dinner.

    Great spot for brunch! Food was yummy, service attentive and friendly, perfect spot for group dining! The only issue ( for me, old lady ) music was a bit too too loud. Other than that we enjoyed it!
