We went for the Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was thoughtful, the drinks were creative, the service was attentive, and the ambience was electric as a result.

The aesthetic was unmatched, it’s more of an intimate setting which was really nice for our small group. Our server was very sweet and explained the menu when we had questions. I loved the sushi, it was so fresh! The gyoza was amazing and the Karage was seasoned perfectly! I will definitely be back!

We loved our server, Henry and our bartender, Lauren. They were knowledgeable, kind, the best kind of servers! And the food was amazing. Already booked another reservation.

Amazing food, great ambience, good service... This felt like a more asian-fusion place compared to Gijin. We got the wagyu & potatoes dish, grilled chicken, and 2 cocktails. Only complaint is that the space is quite narrow, and I wish there was more room in the walkway.

The food, drinks, service and venue were all amazing! We truly enjoyed every single bit of that part of the experience. The only down-check was the “background” music. It was FAR FAR TOO LOUD. As a result, we found it somewhat difficult to converse in normal tones. We felt that very loud music detracted from the experience.

The food was great, ambiance so cool and chic, drinks were delicious, and excellent service. Two of us shared the fried udon noodles and 2 rolls, perfect amount of food. Loved the stories that went with each cocktail!

We enjoyed the evening at Golden Gai. Although we liked sitting at the bar, we were a bit surprised that there are virtually no tables (and we have commented that Gi Jin has few tables & none for 2 people). It would be hard to dine here with more than 2. Although We did talk to very nice people by us. The bar menu was very interesting and very unique. The food was also very very good but more straightforward than Gi Jin…. Less small plates, more entrees and straight sushi. Maybe the average clientele here is more geared that way(?). But we missed some of the more inventive dishes. The price … that’s another issue. It’s very expensive. Really. And you aren’t eating at a bar/counter, and if you didn’t purposely pace out your dishes, you could be gone in 30 minutes maybe that was why the majority of people in there were probably in their late 20s. That seems to be their way…..Money is no object, and eating isn’t the evening activity. Still we really enjoyed everything about our time there and overall it is a well run restaurant.

My husband and I went for the first time with his parents, and the experience was wonderful. Everything we had was delicious, the drinks were creative, and the staff was very friendly. We had Henry as our server, and he was great. Very friendly and patient with my inlaws who were very new at ordering at a Japanese restaurant. We will absolutely come back!
