The GOMA Restaurant is currently undergoing an exciting transformation as part of preparations for Tony Albert and Nell’s The BIG HOSE artwork installation, which will see the temporary closure of the GOMA Bistro.

The restaurant will reopen as GOMA Cafe on 7 January 2025, welcoming walk-in guests daily from 10:00am.

This was our second visit to GOMA restaurant. Our first a few years ago was absolutely brilliant and I was so excited to go back! Yesterday, there were three diners in our party and we all had the 3 courses. Most of each meal wasn't very appetising, under seasoned or the flavour cominations were mismatched and unfortunately we wont be back. We had to request waters and they were served to the wrong person on both occasions, it wasn't overally busy but the service was slightly absent. For a lunch that was well over $100 per head I was quite dissappointed.

This restaurant continues to impress with their amazing service and fantastic menu. Everything on the menu is exceptional.

I love coming to the GOMA restaurant . It is quiet, spacious , has an expansive view of the river, gardens and bridge , the service is friendly and attentive , and the food is freshly prepared with great care to flavour and presentation . The Wild Mushroom gnocchi I had today was exquisite . It is a total experience of relaxation, calm, care and yum for your tastebuds and your soul ! Thankyou to the inspired people who provide this quality of presence. Kathy U

On this visit I had a quick pre-theatre (QPAC) lunch of Kingfish with blood orange salsa and whey beurre blanc with a side of Charred Carrots, chèvre crumb, preserved lemon gremolata. As I was driving later, I ordered a glass of non-alcoholic Lyre’s Classico Sparkling. Main course servings are small and the sides are large. While the food was tasty, it was not hot, warm at best. Plates were not warmed and this was disappointing. In any case, the service was efficient and friendly and ideal for a good lunch before the theatre. Sadly, the external view is of a construction site at the moment.

We were very impressed with the food , definitely gourmet ! The staff were all very friendly, courteous and helpful The ambience was perfect and quiet enough to enjoy our conversation I can definitely recommend the restaurant and look forward to dining there again

We had a lovely dining experience, the food was amazing, the service was amazing, the setting, the noise level, the ambience, the serving dishes, everything was perfect. We all, (4 of us) loved the experience and will most definitely return.
