   The food from the drinks, to the oysters, to the mains was great. Service was well timed for a casual dinner and the our server was an all star. The reason why this isn't a 5star is that despite a $100 pp ticket, we still had to pay for the only parking option which was valet. Seems short sighted to not comp valet when it's the only option.

   Saturday night dinner was great. Arriving around 7 the dining room was comfortably busy but a great volume for conversation. The host stand can coat check was a delightful surprise. Dishes was thoughtful curated from the stories of where it was sourced by the waitress to the plates and flatware. Thanks for a great evening.

   Server was good but it was very dead for a Saturday brunch, extremely over priced and the menu was almost trying to hard to be different yet didn’t offer many vegetarian options or really many options at all

   Delicious and inventive food. This will be my new special occasion restaurant! The only negative was the loud fellow diners early in the evening. It was nice after they left. The singer in the bar was also a little loud. We will be careful to book our reservation on a week night instead of a weekend next time.

   What a wonderful location! The hotel is beautifully decorated, and warmly welcoming. The kitchen is doing a great job.

   I was quite excited to eat dinner at Granddam for the first time after the recognition in Time Magazine. While the ambiance and service were excellent, I was extremely disappointed in the food. I ordered the Black Hawk Farms New York Strip for $89. The cut of meat selection was awful, having a lot of fat and gristle. The steak was swimming in a pool of sauce that was so overpowering I could not taste a hint of the meat flavor. The Rosemary Candied Yams were cooked well but also swimming in a bath of sauce that was excessively sweet. My parents ordered the Pan Seared Trout and Wood Fired Tri Tip. The trout was cooked well, but a tad heavy on the butter. The tri tip was also a poor cut of meat being nearly 50% fat. My wife ordered the Duck Cassoulet, which was very nice in presentation and flavor. The duck was overcooked and dry, but it was the best of the four dishes. Overall, the dinner was well below expectations, particularly for the prices. I would suggest visiting for drinks to enjoy the ambience.

   Our group ordered the Fried Chicken, Lamb Wellington, New York Strip and Ham dish that I cannot remember the name of. All were excellent except for the Lamb Wellington. Super gamey. Couldn’t eat it. I’ve had lamb before and it didn’t taste like that. May have been a bad batch. Not sure. Drinks were excellent. Group had the Bartender Old Fashioned and Vodka Lemonade. The Lemonade was so good you couldn’t taste any vodka. Could be dangerous drink.

   Enjoyed our first visit to The Granddam. The menu is unique. Good choice of appetizers and a small but nice variety of main course selections. No live music on our visit but we’ll come back again
