   Kim was exceptional. Fun, friendly, made great suggestions. A joyful smile and laugh! She was the icing on the cake! Food and drinks were great. Best espresso martini ever!

   Carolyn was great. Menu was broad but not overly extensive. Food was delish. Love the big room in back. Airy and fun.

   Good food, but abysmal service. The entire staff needs a lot more training in customer service, especially during brunch. 1. The ability to provide even simple accommodations to create a better experience was initially refused, upon requesting eggs over hard instead of easy, this is apparently not possible, swapping bacon for sausage which are the same price, no can do. If they want to be that rigid for rigid sake, strange approach. 2. I ordered a dessert cocktail that was literally undrinkable, it was the consistency of pudding. I spoke to the waiter who said let me get you something different, I swapped it out. Then they proceeded to still try to charge me for the drink. Upon receiving the bill, the waiter initially was unable to help the situation so here comes the “‘manager”, who then after going back and forth tells me the drink was made to “spec” and she will make an exception. First of all, I’ve had tons of dessert cocktails in my life, this is a conversation between you and your bartender about fixing the quality of the drinks, it’s not a discussion with me. Second, the willingness to lose further business over a $14 drink is asinine. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, but obviously I will never return. I dine out quite regularly and at much higher end restaurants than this one, and have never received this type of petty treatment.

   Very attractive decor. Service was attentive. Food was fair, but nowhere near as tasty or creative as expected for $150 per person. Potato leek soup was cold and fell flat. Ahi tuna looked amazing but was completely bland. Medium-rare duck was definitely well done. The miso cake dessert was so sweet it was inedible. Making a first visit on Valentine's Day may have been a mistake- the menu was so disappointing we are not enthused about returning.

   I’ve been to Gunther several times in the past and had a generally wonderful time and enjoyed delicious food. I went for Valentine’s Day and was very disappointed with my evening. They offered a preset 4 course tasting menu, for $150 per person. The price point would be shocking for even a Michelin level restaurant, let alone one that isn’t. It felt predatory knowing that no one would walk out on this day. We each started with the foie gras which was fair, then each had the tuna and quail second course. The tuna dish was good but only a few bites (fine for a tasting menu, but not given the price point). The quail was deep fried and just ok, somewhat mealy. Finally we both had the duck breast which again was fair, mine unfortunately had a visible piece of sinew running throughout. For $150 a person I’d expect top tier quality, and this fell far short of that. Were this my first time at Gunther I would not be back, and even for a repeat customer it has still left a sour taste in my mouth. I’d urge the management to reconsider this approach to a speciality day menu. I’m hoping my next visit will restore my faith in the establishment.

   The Valentine's Day menu was outstanding. The choices were creative and the wine pairings exemplary. Baltimore has many excellent dining options, but Gunther is at the top of the list.

   Went for Valentine's Day. The food was amazing and we had what felt like the best seats in the house. Our table had a view of the entire restaurant, we had flowers and heart decorations. It was a fabulous night.
