   Context -- a family that has eaten in multiple Michelin 3 star restaurants around the world. This dinner was about $500. The food was good for the location -- no complaints. The service, however, was... lacking. Literally. The appetizers arrived AFTER the main course. The main course -- the most expensive steak on the menu -- arrived cooked perfectly but lukewarm. Getting water refill was a process of a dozen follow-ups and eventually having to ambush a waiter for another table. The manager floated up after his junior waiter's obvious mess-ups but did not follow through, so mess-ups continued. The restaurant came through when asked for a dessert cheese plate off the menu, but the fairly enjoyable cheese selection was accompanied by assorted pickles. All in all, the food is well above average for the geography, but there are much better operated places within 15 minute drive.

   We were sat in the bar side. It was cozy and quaint. I 100% recommend ordering a steak while there. We did wait a little while before being attended to by our server, however, I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was busy being family day weeeknd. Both my husband and I were over-pleased with our food and will definitely eat there again!

   Fantastic Galentine’s dinner with a dear friend. Service was impeccable. Manager stopped by to ensure we were enjoying our experience. Recommendations for type of steak to order were very much appreciated. Spot on and to our liking. House made focaccia was delicious. Flourless chocolate cake was devine. Pasquale our server was very attentive and professional. Highly recommend especially for occasions when you want to feel special.

   Food was OK if your holding yourself out to be a steak house and charging SH prices you need to get it right . Ordered 3 steaks one arrived cold while everything else on the plate was hot the 2 nd medium rare arrived blue and the 3rd rare arrived medium well . Sent them back You just can’t have fundamental misses like that . Service was above average and the rest of the food was fine .

   Absolutely beautiful dinner. Ribeye steak was amazing, prime rib special was amazing as well. Very good food and customer service was outstanding. Very nice atmosphere. Good job to those that work there. 👍

   Can’t say enough about this restaurant. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and plentiful especially the cast iron brisket hash and eggs benedict. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a great breakfast that comes with great service and all for a very reasonable price too.

    Our experience was delightful. The food was delicious and aesthetically beautiful. Our appetizer of brussel sprouts was so flavorful. The zesty tang of balsamic vinegar with the smokiness of the bacon made this dish outstanding. Our main courses of a filet for me and prime rib for my husband were cook to perfection. The chive mashed potatoes were beautiful presented. The overall visual aesthetic of the plating made it feel very special. Our desserts were a perfect ending. My husband had the cheesecake with a rhubarb coulis and I had the crème brûlée which is a food memory bringing me back to the night my husband proposed, 23 years ago. Gustav’s is definitely the top choice in Collingwood fine dining. It is an experience that will meet all your expectations and beyond.
