Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Located in Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood, Gusto 501 brings together the innovation of sister restaurant Gusto 101 and the soulful hospitality of Janet Zuccarini’s first restaurant, Trattoria Nervosa. Since opening our doors in 2020, Gusto 501 has been serving fresh takes on Italian fare in Toronto’s east end. Designed by award-winning architecture firm PARTISANS, Gusto 501’s space is punctuated by glowing terracotta walls and an oversized “garage door” façade that opens up to reveal a multi-level dining theatre.

    We love Gusto but our server must have been off their game. Very slow to check on our table - our water glasses sat empty until we asked, and didn’t check if we wanted to order another round of drinks until our food was almost gone. We ended up leaving instead of staying for another round.

    Food is always good, amazing food!! The server was horrible , my glass broke and the head chef had to come bring napkins. The server didn’t even come to help. On top of that didn’t even offer to bring another drink. Horrible waitress.

    Terrible service on my birthday - Dec 27th by Alejandra, the fact that we had to wait atleast 40 minutes for food and we had to pay automatic 20% tip for crappy service. I was here on October and it was such an amazing and fast service. The food was overcooked and was lacking sauce - I got the most popular pasta mafalde ai funghi and I always order this pasta and it’s always tasted good. I was truly disappointed by the service and the taste of food.

    We came here for a birthday celebration and were not disappointed! Food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. Another nice touch was the birthday candle added to our dessert since many restaurants forget about it even when it is added in the notes. Will be back!

    Gusto 501 offers a chill vibe with dim lighting and a great music playlist that sets the mood perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and quick, making the dining experience seamless. The food was incredible—some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! The Carbonara and Margherita pizzas were outstanding, and the mushroom pasta was a table favorite. The espresso martini was spot-on, and desserts like the tiramisu and torta di mandorla were the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommend!
