Chinese New Year Celebration

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Hakkasan with a special a la carte menu inspired by the Year of the Snake. Additionally, Hakkasan guests will receive red Wishing Ribbons. They will have the chance to write down their wishes for 2025 and then each will be hung on the restaurant’s Ling Ling wall in hopes of bringing good luck and fortune. On January 31st at 8 pm, a traditional Dragon Dance will be performed for guests, commencing in Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s lobby and traveling to Hakkasan where it will conclude at about 8:30 pm.

We arrived with a lot of excitement for a romantic date after dining here in the past, and we were brought to a table very close (maybe 10 inches between tables) to some noisy children with a bright light shining right over the table in our eyes. We asked to be moved and two tables later had a reasonable table, but the lighting was still too high. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, so I’m not sure why this would happen. No offense against children, but for a couple, a quieter table would be appreciated. The music was also really loud with a lot of bass and not relaxing. For all these reasons I downgrade at the ambience and overall score. The food and service was fantastic.

Drinks were good, dumplings average, vegetable fried rice very good along with shrimp stir fry. Portions average size. Service was fair. Ambience nice. Slightly overpriced but at nice hotel in Miami. Would go back.

It may be because it was NYE but the food was lukewarm, the dumplings cold and the rice clearly dried out under a heat lamp. The evening was OK but the food was a real let-down. It was topped off with a 12 inch black hair on the dumpling plate. At $199 per head it was a dispiriting and expensive experience and we will probably never return.
