   Brought my wife here for a belated Valentines day dinner have been wanting to come here for a while. Really exceeded my expectations. Staff is very patient with folks new to the style of food. The variety of flavors, the service and the ambience is amazing. I can see why this place is so highly rated.

   Han Oak offers a unique, interactive dining experience with an enchanting atmosphere. The restaurant is practically hidden in a block of eateries, which makes the place feel like a secret club. Once we found the entrance and made it inside, I was charmed by the minimalist construction; it’s a large, well-heated enclosed patio that looks into a small green courtyard. Our handsome and friendly server, Sunny, graciously explained the set hotpot menu, and guided our selection of some sophisticated cocktails. We had so much fun dipping various delicacies into the hotpot broth—if you get the seafood add-on, which I highly recommend, just hold the pieces of fish and scallops in the broth for 10 seconds tops, and it will come out perfect. The entire dinner was an omnivores delight, and I was happy with the balance of fresh vegetables and the variety of meats. Also I was pleased with the quality of the broth, it was flavorful and felt nourishing but not overly salty. Everything was accompanied by an assortment of sauces which complimented the ingredients perfectly. Last but not least, for dessert we relished a decadent vanilla bean custard—there were so many micro vanilla seeds I could feel the tiny little crunches bursting with flavor. And there was popped rice on top of this heavenly custard that had the most satisfying textural contrast. C’est Magnifique! This place takes traditional Korean cuisine and puts a creative and inspired twist on it that all in all made for a very memorable dining experience.

   Amazing meal with friends. Our second time to Han Oak. And was as great as the first time. Delicious and creative food. Attentive service and fun atmosphere without being too loud.

   The hot pot dinner was very delicious and it was nice to have the set dinner where everything but the drinks were decided for us. The portions were spot on; we felt perfectly full. The caramelized custard was so creamy, with a lovely citrus jelly. Staff was very friendly, though we felt we may have been forgotten a time or two. Highly recommend! (They can’t accommodate a vegan meal though mindful of food allergies.)

   It was good but portion was small for the price. I expected more for the price that I paid but it wasn’t bad we liked the food

   Our favorite restaurant in Portland. The people working there are genuine, the space is cool but quirky, the food is always thoughtful and thought out. It all adds up. It’s hard to eat food this good in an unpretentious atmosphere.

   Excellent one off menu, beautifully prepared and paced with unobtrusive but attentive staff. Music was loud enough to enjoy but able to converse over, and kept other conversations from being noticeable. Every space had a pair of speakers so you were getting all of the music and not just one channel, and I really appreciate that as it's distracting to me. Everything about dining there is so well thought out. Looking forward to returning for hot pot sometime and visiting jeju as well.

   Overall we enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers especially the homemade kimchi was delicious. I’d pass on the raw fish for the hot pot - it was easily lost in the pot with the chopsticks. Service was spot on. The veggie selection got the hot pot was perfect!
