We were seated in a back corner by the window, which meant we had the window shade leaning on top of us the entire time due to the lack of space between the table and the window. It was also uncomfortably cold in the restaurant. It felt like a back door to the outside was opened nearby. The service wasn’t as great compared to our previous visits. On a positive note, the presentation of the food was as impressive as always. Still, I’d hesitate before choosing this spot for our next date night.

Server was great, food was very good. Ambiance was ok, except halfway through our service they stuffed a family of 5 next to us. They seated them at a four top, but they had 3 sitting on the banquette at the table for 4. And it seemed very crowded and I felt a bit encroached on.

I have been disappointed the last time we visited Hapa a few weeks ago and then today. We had to ask for water 3 times, we even received our appetizers before the water came. Ours son kids meal has taken longer every time we’ve visited. Our server seemed distracted. The place is bigger now but doesn’t mean that the restaurant should keep the same amount of workers. Also, seems so cramped inside that it’s hard for people to go by to use the restroom. Today our miso soup was cold and the food was kind of sloppy on the plates. I guess the place is always packed and there’s not as much attention to detail anymore. I won’t be returning for a while.

The sushi is always great. Service was as needed, not overly in our face. Perfect for our group. The attention to the needs of people with allergies is wonderful. They have GF Tamari, which is awesome. I usually carry individual packets with me but sometimes I’m out. Never a concern at Hapa. Love it there.

We’ve been coming here for years love this place!! We really wish they’d bring back the tofu and salmon teriyaki please !! My hisbamd is vegan and the lava tofu is too sweet
