Harry’s Restaurant in Exeter is set in the heart of the city and has been gratifying appetites for 26 years. Rated as one of the best restaurants in Exeter on TripAdvisor, Harry’s has established itself to become the go-to dining den on the neighbourhood food scene.

Founded in 1993 by the Pounds family, Harry’s is still independently owned and run today. The eclectic restaurant, bar and private dining room all sit within the iconic gothic style building, formerly Harry Hems’ 19th century architectural sculptors workshop.

Lovely atmosphere and great service. Superbly cooked fish, so tasty. Rather crispy chips, but that's only a matter of taste, and they were replaced and also removed from the bill. Harry's has been going for a long time because it's a consistently great place. Really recommend.

The staff were fabulous and also very knowledgeable about the menu and able to make recommendations. The table was quite small and my husband was sat facing a wall with his back to the rest of the room. I totally loved my meal it was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly but it wasn’t the hottest, I understand steak needs resting after cooking but it really was quite cold, despite this I still enjoyed it. My husband had a T-bone and asked for it medium rare and when he got it I thought it was really rare. I know he could’ve sent it back but he didn’t and to be fair he ate it all. Overall the food was good and we enjoyed our meal, but it wasn’t the absolute best we’ve ever had. I would eat there again and would probably recommend it. The venue is nice, and as I said the staff were fab.

Slightly fewer staff than the price justified - not as attentive as usual. Hazelnuts added to dessert despite request otherwise.

Harrys is just one of the restaurants where the food is consistantly amazing, the staff are attentive and tge atmosphere lovely. Its a special place and can be difficult to get a table, but for very good reason! The cocktails are delicious and made perfectly. I love this place!

Not great, our server was lovely but food was really bad and couldn’t eat it, just be aware that they won’t refund you even if you have a bad meal.

The food was absolutely fantastic! My friends and I had such a great time celebrating my birthday together. The portions were generous and really filling. Definitely worth every penny we spent!
