The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.
The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace. Whisper’s Pub features an eclectic wine list from around the world with more than a dozen different wines by the glass, as well as seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and wine flights.
Enjoy the many different spaces our restaurant has to offer, including the intimate tables in our dining rooms, Whisper's Pub, dining al fresco, and private rooms for parties. It's the perfect location for your next meal or event.

This is our second year celebrating the holidays with our office staff at Hartwood Cafe. The food is excellent with special touches (the parmesan crisps, ravioli to die for, to name a few), it provides an upscale casual atmosphere with a nice attached bar. The staff is always courtesy and goes out of their way to accommodate you. There is ample outside parking and you never feel rushed. We love the restaurant as a casual eatery on weekdays, as a friendly location (especially outside in the summer) to meet up with friends and as a point of celebration. This is a great option locally and in general.

What a delightful dining experience. Started with a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar; nice relaxed setting and service. Then onto dinner, where the menu presented a choice of several mouth-watering options; we had to do some work to make a decision. All of our food was very tasty and well prepared from the soup/salad appetizers (and bread plate) to our entrees. Both seafood dishes (swordfish and Mahi-mahi w/crab) were cooked to perfection. One of our group had the Cottage Pie and said that it was delicious; reminded him of the pies he would eat growing up in England. Service from Miro was excellent (and personable). The ambiance was very relaxing; this was the rare restaurant that you could have a conversation without shouting and straining to hear. A good combination of respectful fellow diners and the smart layout of the dining room really kept the noise level low. Definitely a return visit is in order. Well done.

Very pleasant experience in a popular spot. Provides both table cloth and pub options. I highly recommend their soups.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. We were pleasantly surprised when we got our favorite waitress, Alexis. She’s the best!! Alexis is attentive and energetic. It’s always a great night when we have her. The food NEVER disappoints either!!
