The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.
The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace. Whisper’s Pub features an eclectic wine list from around the world with more than a dozen different wines by the glass, as well as seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and wine flights.
Enjoy the many different spaces our restaurant has to offer, including the intimate tables in our dining rooms, Whisper's Pub, dining al fresco, and private rooms for parties. It's the perfect location for your next meal or event.

                                                                          Hartwood is one of our favorite restaurants. The waitstaff is so friendly and efficient (Jordan today) and the food is always good.

                                                                          This is a quaint bar and restaurant with lots of charm. While the lunch menu was not that large, there was a decent selection and they could accommodate my garlic allergy with a few options. Our service was good.

                                                                          Jordan, our waiter was excellent and fun to joke with. Food was good also. I had the lobster tail hubby had filet Mignon. It was a nice evening.

                                                                          My wife had lobster stuffed lobster and I had filet mignon with lump crab. We both had a salad, artichokes, and cauliflower risotto, and shared a bottle of wine. Everything was perfect. How could it not? Jordan was a great server.

                                                                          It was my first time at Hartwood. Although I had requested a booth in the Pub, we were seated at a table as no booths were available, or had been reserved for my party of 4. While that was a disappointment, the restaurant area was not as noisy as we anticipated. The food was wonderful. I had decided on an entree before arriving but the duck special was what I ordered and I was very happy with that selection. It was a delightful dining experience, aside from the booth mixup on their part.
