At Hawker, Chef's Jeff Merkel and Leah Steduto spotlight their naturalistic worldview with beautifully composed plant-based small plates, cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated list of vegan wines.

Located in Kensington Market, the cozy dining space features an earthy, palette of dark wood and moss. A picturesque, romantic back patio is naturally decorated with ivy. A front patio lets you enjoy the lively sights and sounds of the market.

All reservations have a 15 minute grace period. Please call us if you are arriving later than 15 minutes. Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 45 minutes for parties of 1-2; 2 hours for parties of 3-6; 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 7 or more. If arriving late, we may not be able to extend your seating time if there are reservations scheduled after your allotted timeframe.

Please note, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill for groups of 6 or more.

Delicious food, artfully plated, accompanied by nice wine. The restaurant is small and too loud for us to hear each other talk.

Wonderful experience. Nestled in a lively neighborhood, Hawker is a quiet and delicious respite from the bustle outside. Once you are finished enjoying the flavors and sipping on their house-made chai, you can pop outside and revel in the colors around you. We will definitely be back.

Incredible food, incredible experience. You must try the sunset, spring, summer and starry night - they were favourites! Great date or birthday experience.

I recently traveled solo to Toronto, and the staff at Hawker were amazing. I sat at the counter while they prepared my food, and they kept me company so it didn’t feel like I was eating alone. The food was high quality with fresh ingredients. Definitely recommend. They recommended three small plates, but I think two would have been plenty; however, I was happy to get to try more of the food.

Delicious food via the tasting menu, everything was perfectly presented, explained and tasted amazing. My only thought was it was a bit of a light meal. If I go again, it would be a la carte. Portions for a la carte were bigger and would have been more cost efficient and filling than the tasting menu. Otherwise, great service, food and vibes.

Delicious vegan meal, one of the best in the city. A bit more expensive but the plating and food combinations are gourmet level. I went during winterlicious and highly recommend you give this place a try.
