We return to Hawksmoor for celebratory meals over the years because we know the quality of food and service is always superb. We know we won't be disappointed in either. Everything was delicious. Everyone was delighted with everything they ordered. The salad starters were delicious, and the steaks cooked perfectly. The flavours of the food and sides were great, and the pudding and handmade "rolos" were delicious. My 50th birthday meal was made incredibly special by the team. With the thoughtfulness, knowledge, and generosity of the staff, from the bar manager, sommelier to the wait staff. Thank you so much.

I haven’t been to hawkmoor for a while.I feel it’s gone downhill from the last time I went. The food was mediocre . I had chateaubriand , it was tough and flavourless . Considering how much our bill came to it was not worth it .

Upon arrival we had to wait downstairs as Feb restaurant wasn’t ready which was fine. When we went up we were ‘told off’ by the hostess for being 6 minutes early!! Another couple were behind me and started to laugh, to be fair it was quite funny! And ridiculous! When we went to our table we were constantly harassed to order even though their restaurant was quiet and we had only just got there. When ordering, our waitress didn’t know about the sides and misinformed us of the portion size, meaning we had to order more when the food arrived. I wanted to try the bone marrow mash on the side of the ‘mash and gravy’ as an alternative, I wasn’t allowed but told it tastes the same. When the tiny gravy pot arrived I ordered the bone marrow one anyway and it was much better. When ordering desserts, my friend specifically asked for salted caramel ice cream with hers, not vanilla, of course it came with vanilla so we had to send it back. This pushed us for time as we were going to the theatre. All in all, the monkfish was great, the steak and wine ok, service was not great, utterly overpriced for what it is.

Overall, the experience was good. We visited the restaurant due to great reviews and the fact that it was our wedding anniversary. We were sat next to the servers tablet which meant that we were constantly being surrounded by employees which was a little annoying. our starters were oysters and mussels, couldn’t complain, a solid 9/10. However, for the main course we ordered Chateaubriand- Medium Rare. the outside of the steak was burnt to a crisp, with the middle of the steak being almost rare. The steak itself was rather chewy, apart from certain parts that were cooked correctly. The service at the restaurant was great, couldn’t rate them any lower than a 5/5, they even gave us a free ice-cream to celebrate our anniversary. Overall, I would have given them a significantly higher rating, but the steak, which was the most expensive part of the meal, was dramatically below par. I probably could have gone to Tesco’s and purchased / cooked a steak at a greater quality.

We ordered the sharing feast which was very expensive but it was a special occasion. The vegetables arrived first and were lukewarm We asked for the meat to be medium rare. When it arrived it was so undercooked we had to send it back. They sent it back to kitchen whilst our vegetables got colder and colder on the table. When the re cooked meat arrived it was still too rare to eat. Extremely disappointing. Can’t believe it ever won an award for food. Restaurant huge and very loud - bit like a posh Weatherspoons. The lady who served us was nice though. Bill was over £300 for 4 people. Take my advice and go elsewhere.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! My service was phenomenal and the food top notch! I had the Sunday roast and if I could eat it every day I would! Well done!!
