Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

The venue is stunning! From the outside, looks kind of art deco and lit up and on the water, simply stunning. Inside is Hawksmoor traditional old style. The service was excellent. The server Plamen was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive despite being very busy. Had Hawksmoor £19.50 steak and side deal. The steak the give with this deal is a rump steak. Make sure you get it medium as it is rather a tough cut. The baked sweet potato was lovely, and the buttered greens I ordered in addition to the deal was just ok, nothing special. My friends also ordered mac and cheese, which I tasted but found it to be rather bland. However, it was ascetically pleasing with the cheese pull from mozzarella and the breadcrumb topping. Dessert we shared, and it was the sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream, sooo delicious, soft, and perfect for sharing. If you were to eat this on your own, you may be sick as it is rather rich, but seriously sooo good. Drinks at Hawksmoor are expensive and appear to be served in small sized glassware. It cost £17 for a small glass of rose champagne, and my friend ordered a lychee martini (£14) which was served in the smallest martini glass I have ever encountered. Apart from the size my friend did say she enjoyed the drink, it was really good and rather strong so this might be why it was served in such a small glass. Would I return yes? The service was great, the venue is lovely, with a great ambience and great food.

Hawksmoor is always a winner, great selection of meats, fish and sides. Bone marrow oysters are divine and I love the Caesar salad with an always perfectly cooked filet. Great for a Sunday roast, but I really enjoy a late evening booking mid week when it’s a bit quieter.

This is my second time at Hawksmoor, my first experience staff were great, however food was not good. Wood Wharf, unfortunately did not meet expectations. 1. They did not have the Sunday Roast or the Chicken on menu. 2. We asked for medium well, it was very well done to the point it was very chewy. Rest of sides were fine. 3. Our waiter was attentive, however this declined as time went on. 4. When the waiter was taking our order, another gentleman came over and asked what he was doing and to go help the other waiter, (which was to serve chips on the table). In my opinion he could have politely asked him to come away, to save the embarrassment for him or the other gentleman could have done it himself. Due to the food taking some time to come out, we did not ask for the steak to be redone, as we had to travel back. Staff at front desk were really polite and attentive, however overall, it was disappointing and with both experiences I would not return.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience at Hawksmoor Wood Wharf did not meet your expectations, especially following a previous visit that also fell short. It's disappointing to hear that these issues, along with the interactions between our team members, detracted from your meal. The situation you described is certainly not reflective of the professionalism we strive for, and we'll address this internally to prevent it from happening again. Your feedback will be shared with the team to help us improve. We hope you might reconsider and give us another chance to provide the quality dining experience you deserve.

Really enjoyable meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had a really lovely Italian waitress (Sara I think) who really made us feel at home. Excellent fillet steak and very generous portion at 300g. Sides were also great but could’ve been slightly bigger. Fries portion was very small for example. Overall a wonderful evening. Thank you.
