Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

My fish was delicious but my friend ordered a well done steak and we suspect the chef got his revenge by sending him a properly burnt and inedible plate of food. Not good.

Booked a birthday dinner for my friend and it was simply amazing. The service was perfect; Pablo was our waiter and we couldn’t have asked for better. He was helpful, afford a lot of information on the different meals and went above and beyond for us. The food was lovely, would definitely recommend going on a Sunday and trying their Sunday roast and the overall atmosphere was perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Sunday roast was alright, quite expensive considering what you get. Carrots and greens were good but the beef serving was smaller than expected and the gravy portion was also on the smaller side. Personally didn't enjoy the flavour (or lack thereof) on the yorkshire pudding. Unsure of what value the roasted garlic head adds to the overall plate, it could've been good if it were caramelised. Cauliflower cheese tasted as expected, and the hawksmoor stuffing was a highlight. Oysters roasted with bone marrow tasted good but the oysters were small. Drinks were mediocre. Considering the price tag, I was expecting a much higher quality when it comes to the food we received. Won't be rushing back.

Lovely venue for a special occasion. We were celebrating an 18th. Expensive, but food was delicious and service was generally good We weren’t at all rushed - had the table for 3 hours for 7 of us. Cocktails were a little slow to arrive after ordering, so we ended up having them with our starters, which wasn’t ideal, but otherwise everything went smoothly. Atmosphere was good - not too noisy, but a nice buzz about the place.

Really like the orange wine selection, ambiance and location but the prices are increasing so we only go occasionally.

The location is extraordinary and we had a table with a view by the window. We all loved the steaks and the sides of both chips and fries, with their homemade ketchup also being delicious. The value for money is decent, I’d just call out on the sides being a little overpriced as well as the wine. Other than that, the service was amazing and we had some great time.
