Hayden Block Smoke & Whiskey is a bbq joint in the heart of Kensington, Calgary, Alberta. Smoking our meat from 10-14 hours, people love our brisket but we have a selection of meats, trays and sides to choose from. Join us inside or out if the weather permits, or on our backyard whiskey garden open year round. Drinkwise we’ve got the largest whiskey list in town, and an ever-evolving cocktail list anchored by our smokey old-fashioned. We’ve also got a bunch of beer on tap, with some local favourites and international selects.

We enjoyed our dinner at Hayden Block. The food was great overall. We enjoyed the brisket most of all. Very tender. We also had the pork ribs which were ok, and the pulled pork which was also pretty good. All the side dishes we tried were very good as well. Overall a great experience. We’ll be visiting again.

We had family come to town and we thought Hayden Block would be a great place to take them as they love barbecue. The ambiance in the back with the fireplace is fantastic. It was great that my 16 year old nephew was able to enjoy the spot as they allow minors until 8:00 pm. The service was fantastic and the food delicious. The brisket was very tender. All of the sides were excellent. If you are a whiskey drinker they have an incredible selection which is half off during happy hour 3:00 - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday.

An excellent experience. Nolan is an amazing bartender and Voislav is great as well. We sat at the bar and at first we're a little skeptical but at the end it was awesome!

Excellent meal, quality and quantity perfect. Servers were prompt and had a smile everytime they approached

Meat centric. Great for keto dining. I enjoyed the beef short rib and green beans, and took home enough for a second dinner the next day. I do not like a really strong smoky flavour and the beef rib was perfect. The price seems scary ($35) for a beef rib, but not when you consider I got two meals out of it, and most steaks in other restaurants are that price or more and not as tender.

Hayden Block did not disappoint! The food was excellent with good portions for our group of three. The servers were attentive. It was a super cold evening and the cold air from the door opening could be felt, although the fire we were seated beside helped balance that. We will definitely return in the future.
