Haywards is located on the outskirts of the beautiful Epping Forest and historical Epping town centre. A sophisticated and elegant environment, the building is a converted skittle alley and still retains many original features. Haywards is owned and run by husband-and-wife team Amanda and Jahdre Hayward, and their experience and passion for offering high quality and exciting dishes is evident throughout your visit. Staff are well trained and offer exceptional customer service and the interesting and exciting dishes created in the kitchen consistently receive high praise. Although not open as a restaurant any longer, Haywards was awarded 3AA Rosettes in 2019 in addition to a number of accolades prior to this.

We had an enjoyable lunch at the 'spirits tasting ' event, the starter was particularly good. We were given a voucher as a gift and had not previously dined at Haywards. We enjoyed the fixed lunch menu and the presentation from Adam representing Essex Spirits. However, we would have preferred a wine tasting experience as we rarely drink spirits.

Lunch with friends who travel extensively and are visiting the UK. Before coming to Haywards they tried a new restaurant at a top London hotel and were disappointed, but said Haywards was far better and very impressive. We all enjoyed the creative and delicious food and the excellent service by the delightful front of house team. Relaxing ambience made it a wonderful day. Thank you Haywards!

Fantastic meal - beautifully presented and fabulous flavours. Best soufflés we’ve ever had - Banana with Rum caramel - stunning! Certainly deserves at least one Michelin Star!

Our favourite local restaurant. The food is always delicious and the Service excellent. Would definately recommend. Be sure to purchase a jar or two of their honey!!

Our first visit at Haywards for a Sunday lunch and we will definitely come back. The food was exceptional from the beginning to the end. Very attentive service.
