   My boyfriend and I usually come there with another couple or by ourselves on date night. This time I brought a girlfriend and we had a wonderful lunch together. It was her first time and she was thrilled. I always have a lovely time. Everything we order we end up loving. We always ask our server or the manager who walks around always checking on us, “ how was this made? What ingredients do we have in this? “. No matter who we ask, they always know. I’ve been in hospitality, my whole life, and when your staff knows what ingredients are in the dishes and how they’re prepared, and where some of the ingredients are sourced…be unimpressed. This business is about the food and the care of their patrons. And they are an excellent example of this. Hearsay is highly prepared to give you what you want for the money you spend. I never leave feeling like I’ve spent too much. The ambience is beyond incredible. A lofty setting with incredible light display and chandelier. Upstairs balcony-like view over the bar and the lower floor is breathtaking from that vantage point. You can rent the outdoor space upstairs for Mardi Gras and any party/romantic situations that they set up. We’re already planning for ours. And we learned this last trip that they have a room beyond what we can see upstairs for events and gatherings. I’m excited to look into that. By the way tip your bartender, they are amazing. My favorite old-fashioned on Galveston Island.

   Reservation was for 7:30 on a Saturday the hostess station was unoccupied 3 waiters made eye contact with our party and yet did not acknowledge us at all Person finally came to hostess station after we had waited 10 minutes. Place was not busy Person did not apologize for the wait and didn't acknowledge us with a greeting Put us at a table right outside the restrooms. Smell was overpowering. waited 10-15 minutes and NO ONE acknowledged us As we were leaving the person (may be a manager?) watched us leaving after he sat us down and he did not ask why we were leaving. May try again during the week

   Fantastic food and service, as always! We had a party of 8 and had no problems getting everything quickly. Server was awesome. Table seating was so comfortable!

   We usually go to the same restaurant when we are in Galveston. This time we decided to venture out because it’s Galveston Food week. We looked at various restaurants menus and decided to come here. We were not disappointed. Everything was excellent, there was so much food to enjoy. We had appetizers, I had the steak and my husband had the pasta. By time the desserts arrived we were stuffed.

   Good but not great. Chicken sandwich was not what I expected. A chicken salad sandwich would have been better. Pumpkin pasta was bland. Service was excellent.

    We loved the food which was excellent. The service outstanding. We had a table in the bar area which is beautifully decorated, with an impressive bar and lighting. The drinks were good and the special manhattan cocktail was indeed special. It will be worth going back just for that.
