Hestia, named after the Greek goddess of the hearth, is a modern live-fire grill house. Dishes find inspiration from a custom 20-ft hearth which anchors the kitchen and dining room. Our menus offers an opportunity to explore and showcase techniques that highlight the role of fire in food. You may choose to order from our a la carte menu or experience our chef curated tasting menu.

We accept reservations 60 days in advance. For event inquiries, please visit our website.

2024 Michelin One Star

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Kevin Fink

From the OpenTable editors: When the MICHELIN Guide rolled into Texas in 2024, Hestia, from the famed Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, scored a coveted Star. Locals have long known it's a gem. To start, a 20-foot grill crackles with live fire in the center of the charcoal-toned dining room, where you can do a 12-course tasting with dry-aged Texas wagyu or choose from a la carte options like scallop in beef tallow. Or keep it casual at the bar with a wagyu burger, and pair it with a killer martini or a pick from the 400-bottle-strong wine list.

I had a good time here. I wanted to enjoy the tasting menu, but I accidentally reserved a bar seat which is a la carte only. This disappointed me because I came from out of town, but it was my mistake--not the restaurant's. I enjoyed a cocktail, two bites, an entree, and a dessert. It was all fantastic.

I am somewhat familiar with the criteria used to award Michelin stars. I am guessing the star was awarded here based on their tasting menu, but we ordered ala carte as the tasting menu was just too much food for four of us. We did order several items from each category though: bites, raw, hearth and mains. I could provide specific detail, but won't. Food was good, service was very good. In general, the flavor profile of the food reads salt, but not salty. Probably due to the woodfire technique. On pretty big foot fault happened when the mains arrived and we were missing the pork chop. We waited thinking it was coming until we finally asked for it after about 10 mins. We were told it was coming, but it was another 15 mins. Were were told it would be served medium rare when we ordered it which was fine, but it arrived very rare and with no fat rendered at all. Our guess was they forgot about it and tried to fire it and make up for it, but it was not edible for us. The Michelin inspector probably wouldn't have liked that. Nice restaurant, but we didn't really see the star come through on this occasion.

Dining at Hestia is an experience that goes beyond the plate—it’s a tribute to primal cooking elevated to fine dining. The concept of preparing every dish solely over a wood fire (with no electricity or gas) is bold and beautifully executed. You can taste the intentionality behind each bite. The tasting menu is well-curated, offering a diverse range of flavors that are deep, smoky, and satisfying without ever feeling overwhelming. It strikes that rare balance between creativity and comfort. Service is excellent—attentive, knowledgeable, and warmly professional. The staff enhances the overall experience, making the evening flow seamlessly. That said, one fair warning: you will leave smelling like you spent time near a campfire. It’s part of the charm, but maybe don’t wear your favorite dry-clean-only outfit.

Not Michelin service. The server didn't come to the table until 20 minutes after we sat (reservation at 545, greeting at 605). The server assistant didn't provide a greeting. The food was not coursed out properly. We received our raw dish (on a chipped plate! - NOT MICHELIN) before our bites. Bites and raw dish were not cleared before the scallops came. The server was not personable, and only asked if everything was OK after I paid for the bill.

The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic. We had high expectations, but we were still blown away by how great everything was. Gabby and Anderson were terrific stewards of our wonderful experience!
