A creative nod to Fenway Hotel’s original architect, Herman Everett Wendell. To ‘hew’ also means to cut or chop.
Comprised of three show-stopping elements, each identified with a slightly different rhythm. Discover our intimate parlor bar, showcasing an extensive whisky and Scotch collection inspired by Dunedin’s Scottish heritage. A lively lounge atmosphere is accentuated by water views.

Chophouse cuts and chef-driven seasonal preparations. Authentic and far from stuffy. This is the new neighborhood gathering spot.

    Went for brunch. Food was not good—greasy, tasteless fritter and extremely salty entree. Service was slow and had to ask for water refills multiple times.

    I do not often complaint about poor service, but this time I feel I must. The night started out okay; our waitress was very sweet and thorough. But seems that as soon as we ordered and did not order the any drinks or the most expensive menu item(s), she totally dropped the ball on us. Not only did she never, and I mean never, come back to check on us after we got our food, she was floating around the room and particularly at one table of young couples. Maybe she thought the tip there would be bigger, so she focused there. Anyway, regardless, she left us HIGH AND DRY! Not only did we not have salt and pepper which we later requested by another waitress passing by our table, my steak was a bit too rare (I would have requested another 3-4 minutes on the grill) and my partner's food was lukewarm at best. We waited and waited and she finally came over with the bill and after we quickly declined to see the dessert menu. After spending an outrageous $180 on an "unfit" meal, we were extremely disappointed and will not come back again to your restaurant.

    The drinks and mushroom tartine were excellent. The burgers were cooked perfectly. We asked for all condiments on the side and we were a couple bites in when Wouk mouths started burning from the barbecue sauce they didn’t put on the side. The manager took it off the bill. I’m used to better attention to detail at Hew.

    We love HEW but save it for special occasions! The food is always delicious and impeccable service.

    We were staying at the Fenway Hotel so the restaurant was convenient and we had heard good things about it. We have no problem paying for good food and service but the prices did not justify either in this case. The crispy duck, while delicious, was 2 very small pieces (each piece maybe the size of a quarter), for $55. One of the specials was a 10 oz steak for $120 and it was average. Not charred on the outside, something I feel we could have gotten anywhere else for $35. There was a small side of mashed potatoes which were delicious with a coconut flavor. The service was good and the atmosphere was very nice but the food did not meet our expectations at all.

    We couldn’t decide (and have no food allergies) so let the chef pick for us. We had met him in the elevator earlier that day. Excellent appetizer of fried quail legs, a salad with roasted butternut squash and lentils, and the entrees were perfectly prepared. My husband had venison tenderloin with Mac and cheese, while I had fresh grouper with gnocchi and pancetta. Superb!

    Visited for the first then for our anniversary. We live locally. And have to say, we won’t be an a hurry to return. Host was rude. Service was extremely slow. Since it was our anniversary my husband didn’t complain or say anything. His steak was horrible. It was the dry aged special. It was not cooked med rare. It was not tender. His mac and cheese was steamy for 20 mins so very hard to enjoy. The biggest disappointment was turns out is was $129 steak!!! It didn’t even taste like a $60 steak. I had and app and a side as my entree and both were good but not craveable flavors. We had drinks on rooftop for sunset. Service and drinks were great. Valets were good.
