Even accounting for a busy Friday in Waikiki and island time this visit was a complete disappointment. We sat, and sat, and finally were able to order some drinks and pupus from a server who was clearly put out by our presence. Perhaps we looked too old. To be honest it seemed like bad luck that we got this guy because food and drink was coming out to other tables well. Anyway, around 45 minutes after we were sat we received incorrect pupus and no drinks. I have never left an Open table reservation before but did so this evening. The place looks awesome but they clearly have service issues. I would not return.

Cassidy was our server and he couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Well, he convinced us we ought to try their special cheeseburger and let me tell you it was fabulous. We also had the shrimp dumplings for appetizer and chocolate bread pudding for dessert. we split everything three ways, except of course the burgers and we were all very happy that we had chosen to try Hideout.

We had a great time getting happy hour at Hideout! Excellent fire pit seating with live music for a nice cocktail and appetizers.

Unreal Experience at The Hideout! If you’re in Waikiki and you’re not hitting The Hideout at The Laylow, you’re seriously missing out. This spot is straight-up a vibe. From the moment we walked in, the energy was next level — the music, the ambiance, the whole aesthetic was effortlessly cool, but still warm and welcoming. The food? Unreal. Every bite felt like it was curated for flavor and presentation. You can tell the chefs put real passion into the menu. Whether you’re there for brunch, happy hour, or late-night drinks, everything just hits. Service was top-tier too. Staff was attentive, friendly, and had that perfect mix of island hospitality and professional polish. They made us feel like VIPs without any pretentiousness. But what really sets this place apart is the vibe. Live music under the stars, fire pits glowing, and that open-air rooftop feel — it’s pure magic. Whether you’re a local looking for a solid night out or a visitor wanting that unforgettable Waikiki moment, this is the spot. 10/10 — already planning my next visit. Highly recommend!

Very cool place to wind down the day. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Just had drinks and appetizers….both very good. Will definitely return!

The ambiance was good. The service was questionable. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes before the bartender came by with water and explained that the servers were in a meeting. When the server came she asked us what we would like. We explained that we were waiting for menus. She pointed at the QR code and said that’s the menu, abruptly and walked away. Her demeanour was short and you could tell she wasn’t having a good day. We ordered the wagyu burger with fries but were not told of substituting the fries until we asked. The burger arrived, well presented but had processed cheese in it, not cheddar, that was disappointing.

The sous chef is amazing there. Brussel sprouts and pork were on point and the kabli bowl is a must order. Come for the live music as well
