Had the booking made 4 months in advanced, when we got there our table wasn’t ready nor had one been reserved so we had to wait and sit outside until one was available. When then finally get to our table (must of been for 10 people but we have 7) and one of the male waiters yelled at us that we couldn’t sit at one end of the table? And proceeded to do the rudest gestures with his hand and say “up the other end” without explanation and with the rudest look on his face while rolling his eyes when one of the girls didn’t hear him. Then took forever to take our order and when the lady did, she completely missed a person on the table and we were calling her back and she proceeded to ignore us so we had to chase her down the stairs. No sorry or anything. Drinks came out at all different times. No one checked on our meals. I stated we had 2 vegans with us on the booking and then no vegan option was offered to them. Just was overall disappointing seeing the price we paid, we were so excited to come and the service really let us down.

Always a wonderful dining experience! One of my favourite places to dine in Melbourne. Delicious menu, aesthetically plated dishes, attentive staff and great coffee!

Everything was spectacular! From the onset stepping into the grand loft, the high ceiling and spaciousness of the restaurant creates a hip and trendy vibe. Not just the ambience but more importantly food and coffee is to die for! I had the amazing kale & cauliflower salad and my partner had the all time favorite crab omelette which was nothing but perfect! Smooth, soft and creamy on top of the home made toast was just the perfect combination! What blew our mind off was the matcha latte! Such heavenly texture, fully bodied and flavored and most uniquely it was served without sugar allowing the authentic matcha to be tasted! I’m sure to be back again to this amazing cafe! Our must have when we are visiting Melbourne!

Very funky setting for this restaurant, busy but efficient, we had booked so were seated promptly and despite being very busy service was quick and friendly. We both had the hotcakes and they were amazing!

Food was really good, however would be nice if they spilt bills as we were a large group.

Get the chilli scrambled eggs and lobster tail! :) What an incredibly beautiful venue! The design, the flow, the ambience all go hand in hand. Such a lovely spot for brunch with friends and visitors to Melbourne.

Overall experience is good. Food tasted good especially the chilli scrambled egg and ricotta hotcakes. I’ll definitely visit Higher Ground in my next visit to Melbourne. Recommendation to make a booking instead of walk-ins.

It was a lovely experience, only down side is the coffee was a bit on the cool side, more cold than hot. But everything else was great, food and service 10/10 Thank you

This restaurant is very vibrant and has so much history. The staff are always very attentive. The lunch menu is very limited but has a great breakfast menu selection. You really need to book ahead to get a table
