While we enjoyed the food, the level of service was sub-par. The drinks (wine and a soft) took about 30 minutes to arrive after having stopped at other tables along the way for server to chat with other guests. Water wasn’t brought, although requested, nor was straw for soft until third request. Appetizers arrived 15-20 minutes later by another staff member so our dinner order wasn’t taken. Server showed up maybe 20 minutes later after apps were done to take dinner order. Server checked in once right after mains arrived but never saw her after until she just brought the check. Seems it was end of her shift. We were seated outside and quickly became the only table out there but servers should know their tables and attend to all of them. We understand the restaurant is newly opened and lots of talk about working out the kinks but basic levels of service should not be a kink if staff had any previous experience. This appeared to be a case of too casual of an attitude toward the job.

This restaurant recently opened and may need time to get better organized but after two visits we found the service poor, the food disappointing and the noise level so loud as to prevent any conversation.

Just opened and already a hit with us - it’s in the golf club so it has a ‘grill’ ambience but the food is definitely upscale while not being expensive. My husband and I each had entrees (fish/steak) - several wines, a cup of soup and split the deviled eggs - and it was $82 which included 20% tip. If we wanted to just go to the bar and have appetizers - they have sliders, sandwiches and salads for a steal based on the quality of the food. You can sit outside on a huge patio and have an amazing golf course view as well and there is a comprehensive beer list along with big TVs. We will def be back!

I wanted to try this place because it has the same owner as The Black Pearl and Sonder Social Club which are both very decent places. It is brand new and it didn’t disappoint. We tried the whipped ricotta, the arancini “tater tots” and the bone in pork chop. All were solid and enough for me to be happy to come back and try other things. Also the price on the drinks was very good in comparison to other places so I definitely think this is a new and hidden gem. I imagine it will build up a nice loyal group of regulars soon.

This was our third visit to Highland House. Food has been phenomenal—and consistently so! Service is wonderful and the staff works hard to deliver a terrific experience.

We live down the street and were so excited the club house has a new restaurant (we are foodies). First the decoration and ambiance were lovely. At first the waiter was helpful and attentive (we got there at 5.30). The happy hour cocktails were delicious and great value for money. However as the evening progressed the service deteriorated. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen, nobody cleared our plates, new drinks didn’t arrive. The waiter complained he was the only one working. Now to the food. The devikes eggs were delicious, tater tots surprisingly good, the taste of the chicken and beef were also very good and presentation was excellent but both meats were extremely tough and hard to cut even with a steak knife. Overall it was good value for money if you’re a local but if you’re going to automatically add 20% service charge then the service needs to be perfect. And the meats need to be better cuts and not overcooked:) We will be back to check on your progress!

We ate outside because I brought my dog. Lovely night, lovely view and great food.

Food was delicious. Mikale was an excellent waiter. Enjoyed Robert visiting with us at our table and sharing the new process for fresh food at Highland House. A totally enjoyable experience!

We enjoyed the food and the service was very good. The only complaint we had was the 20% 'service charge' on the bill, before the tip. First, it was never mentioned, and second, the place just opened... if you need to charge more, don't add a 'service charge', just increase your prices so people can tip appropriately and know what they are paying for.

Highland House is newly opened and suffers from learning curve. The two Apps we were served were good except the sourdough bread was missing. It took extremely long to get a cocktails. Bartenders seemed to enjoy talking to the customers at the bar ignored the main dining. Wait staff looked like there was no coordination with the tables they were assigned too. Made extra steps for the staff and slowed service. That said when we were asked by the Manager how things were and we shared our concerns he apologized. He also took the majority of our costs off the bill which we appreciated. We will return later this season when the kinks are worked out.
