HoopHouse Bakery & Cafe, located in Bordentown City, NJ, features not only from-scratch breakfast and lunch, but also specializes in sourdough bread and pastry. Chef and Owner Christine Wendland, a top graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, offers up a wordly variety of comfort foods, elevating it to what we call 'urban rustic' - using the finest techniques, and high end ingredients, to provide familiar, excellent, delicious food to everyday guests. HoopHouse is proud to feature and support local Burlington County farmers and NJ producers of humanely raised meats, organic produce, and small batch foods. Bread and pastry is available almost year-round at a number of local farmer's markets, as well as in the storefront right in the heart of Central New Jersey. At HoopHouse, we encourage you to stay and be cozy - everyone who enters is family!

The servers were young kids who didn't know what they were doing. The food was not good. They are unaware of what a Japanese breakfast truly is. The service was really slow and the floor in the bathroom was slippery due to grease.

If you are anywhere near central NJ you must plan a meal at Hoop House (or stop by for a freshly baked bread, scone, or pastry - and a complete take-out menu). Christine, the owner/chef, is one of the most creative and skilled chefs in this part of the world (she's even celebrated as a winner of the Chopped series on TV). Fresh, local ingredients are her signature in a menu that ranges from unique takes on American comfort foods and cuisines from around the world. The space is small and homey, shared with the kitchen and ovens, and as comfortable as you can want. Bring your best wine as the food will make it even better.
