This is an upscale place. It’s far fancier than we are used to, but it was a real treat for us. The bartender added one small extra piece by making a paper flower for my wife. It was sweet of him to do that.

When charging fine dining prices, I expect a fine dining experience. Little things like lukewarm warm sides, no crumbing/cleaning the table before dessert, etc. made this a mediocre experience. And the markup on the wine was INSANE. Louis Martini and Duckhorn reds for $125+.

Delicious as always. Had a party of five and another group of 6 that I recommended Houston too and we all loved it. They said they wished DC had a restaurant this good.

Our first time here, in celebration of a special occasion. Our server, Andre was attentive and friendly. The wine list was impressive and the steaks were unparalleled. The cheddar biscuits before dinner were a real treat, though everything was beautifully plated and perfectly prepared. Great experience!

Just had a fabulous dinner at Houston and White. The ambience, food and service were all excellent. For appetizers we had a wedge salad and a Caesar salad. The wedge salad was outstanding …. made with Bibb lettuce ; the Caesar salad serving portion was huge, it was nice to be offered fresh anchovies. For entrées, the short ribs were delicious, especially with some extra red wine sauce to dip the creamy mashed potato side in. The Del Monaco boneless ribeye was cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. Oh yes, the little muffins and sweet butter deserve a call out as well. Our server Riley was terrific! We will definitely be back.
