   The food was good for the price. I think my expectations for the ambiance was high so that’s the only thing that didn’t really meet my expectations.

   It’s IN the Hotel! We got lost trying to find this restaurant. We came when the main restaurant area was closed but even with the bar experience you could still order dinner. The food and the service was really nice! I imagine the typical restaurant area has an even better atmosphere.

   The food was quite delicious- especially recommend the Brussels sprouts! But the service was extremely slow, despite only 2 other tables occupied in the restaurant. We had a weird experience from arrival when the waitress waved us over to a table from across the room rather than greet us at the hostess stand. The drinks were terrible and came well after our food. The wrong side dish came with our entree, and by the time the correct side came out, we were done eating. They did remove the appetizer and the side from our bill to compensate, which was appreciated, but with all the options in Houston for dining, we probably won’t be back.

   We waited well over an hour for breakfast and when we got it it was cold and had no flavour. Only thing hot were the eggs. The staff was not overly friendly. We asked for a tissue and they said go to the bathroom and we had to keep tracking them down for everything we needed. I’d recommend leaving the hotel for breakfast!

   So, first of the actual restaurant is no longer open for dinner. HOWEVER this is more on Open Table than the location inside Laura Hotel. The Restaurant has been closed for six months. Something that Open Table failed to have updated in its system. That is very frustrating and a first for me, but I expect Open Table to be proactive in its updates. When we arrived we were greeted by the closed sign despite having the reservation. We walked around the corner to the bar where we were informed HOWEVER the restaurant may be closed but the kitchen is not. We saw in the more open bar area which was very nice. There were two bartenders on duty. Joe Angel was our primary server. Super nice guy and very apologetic even though it wasn’t his responsibility. Turns out the mishap turned into a very pleasant experience. We had crab cakes and Cajun Mac and cheese and nice glasses of Pinot Noir. Service a bit slow because it’s mainly a bar. Prices reasonable. And valet was complimentary because we had dinner. Learned too that the Laura Hotel is a Marriott Bonvoy so we discovered a possible location to stay. So a mixed bag of the overall experience but mainly because Open Table didn’t do its due diligence.

   The food, service and environment were great. The chef did an amazing job on the food and our server, Tanisha was amazing. I will definitely be going back.

   Everything was great from the food, waiter and ambiance. I will definitely return! I especially like that the parking is validated.

   We made a reservation only to get there and be told that, because there was a banquet scheduled, we would have to sit at the bar area. The server was really nice, and the food was decent, but this was a bit off putting.

   Wanted to try someplace new was very disappointed. No one told us the kitchen clothes a half an hour after our reservation. Service was horrible. The food was not prepared properly. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to help us.

    The food was ok. However, the service was NOT good at all. We made reservations but waited for a bit to be seated as our table was not ready when we arrived. The waitress stood so far away from the table, we couldn’t hear her nor could she hear us. Therefore, it felt as if we were yelling at her to place our order. Some of the our food order wasn’t put in (maybe bc she couldn’t hear us) so when we finally received it we were almost done eating.
