We are not staying at the hotel and just wanted a nice dinner and almost left when we pulled up and security told us valet would be $65. On the OpenTable reservation valet is free. We opted to park at the shops at Wailea and walk 10 minutes back to the hotel entrance. When we got in the massive resort there was no indication of where the restaurant was located. We finally asked the front desk attendant and they said go down the elevator and ‘walk all the way to the left’. After another 10 minutes we finally made it to the restaurant and the hostess asked if we needed our parking valiated. Apparently wouldn’t have had to pay the $65 for valet, would have been nice to know earlier. We were seated promptly and our server was great, he was very attentive and friendly. The other staff was a little abrasive and unrefined. The server/food runner who brought our dishes out for both courses essentially slammed/plopped the plates on the table and not to the correct seats. The support staff/busser was attentive but a little pushy and he crumbed the table with a wet towel after our 2 course. The food itself left something to be desired for the price point. We ordered the ube brioche (probably my favorite dish), the wedge salad (decent, but the dressing was watery), ahi ceviche (the fish was not butchered well and I was left to cut up a long piece myself), scallops (very average and overpriced at $48 for 2 scallops), macadamia nut prawns (fine but the sauce was very sweet) and finally the brussel sprouts (fine but the onions were also very sweet and not enough bacon to balance it). All and all the service was ok and the food was definitely not worth the price.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but definitely not this! This restaurant blew my mind. From the entrance of the Waldorf Astoria all the way to the restaurant. It was absolutely stunning. The restaurant itself had such a beautiful ambience and made me feel like I was in the Maldives because of the hut style restaurant. The tables had dimly lit candles and the sunset could be viewed from almost all tables. Our waiter was kind and helped us pick out what to order. We got a starburst Mocktail which is like strawberry, pineapple, coconut and some other good stuff. It was my FAVORITE DRINK in the entire island, still thinking about it. As for our entree we got ahi ceviche. It was basically these organic chips with a bowl of tuna in coconut milk. It had an interesting taste to it but it was good because the ahi was very fresh. We got a salad with vinegrette dressing and goat cheese which was very flavorful as well. The goat cheese helped the vinegrette taste less overpowering which was perfect. And finally my favorite: the Ulu Gratti for appetizers. Oh my gosh it was so good. If you like lasagna you’ll love this. It tastes like layers of potatoes and cheese. Technically ulu is a fruit but I didn’t taste any fruit which was good. I liked it this way. Buttery, cheesy, warm. Best thing ever. Overall we really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The ambience is great, best cocktails ever. I heard their appetizers are all amazing so I would definitely suggest getting one or more.

Unique & lovely ambiance. Service not impressive & food overall disappointing ~ shrimp over breaded but sauce was very tasty ~ marlin way overdone. Salad was good. We’re here for 8 days & not excited to return.

Excellent dinner - service was a little unimpressive for a Waldorf Astoria property. Support staff was amazing- server didn’t want to be there.
