A SOPHISTICATED SOCIAL LOUNGE ON THE VIRGINIA BEACH OCEANFRONT Sip and savor in the distinctively styled Hunt Room, a historic social lounge in Virginia Beach that brings to life the intricate process of a brew house and distillery. Modern style is carefully fused with Southern charm into a polished interpretation of the fabled hearth rooms where men gathered to sip bourbon, warm by the fire and exchange stories of the hunt. We visited this place on Wednesday, 2/26/25 for a business dinner. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with dim lighting, and a toasty warm fireplace. The seating was comfortable. The service was exceptional—our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were on the higher side, but the quality justified the cost. They also had a good selection of food, and the smoked old-fashioned bourbon was delicious. Overall, this restaurant is perfect for a relaxed evening with great food. I’d highly recommend it for date nights or small gatherings.

The ambiance was excellent; the food was superb. Our server looked after us very well. Highly recommended.

Great night out with friends! Our waitress was training a new waitress and they both were a great team. Food always great!

Never a letdown. Always a number one choice go to spot. Good food, good people, good service, and good location. Scratch that! Perfect everything! We just keep going back. Always something new. From stories to food and just the environment. Ask about the rumors or ghost stories. Ask about the history of the building. Ask about the fireplace and water gate! Ask about the cat!! Have a trip for a tasting and a tour.. that's a must. They make their own bourbon, among other things. Hope this post helped. Happy eats.

Wonderful drinks and food with a menu heavy on seafood. Allergies being what they are, I recommend a few more options for those with food restrictions. That said, shrimp and oysters were amazing and the brussel sprouts were the best ever.

Amazing food, great service, but the music was very loud just before 6pm (when they turned it down, presumably for dinner time)—I couldn't understand the person sitting next to me.

Had dinner with my Mom who was visiting out of town. Our server was Sean. Sean was prompt, friendly, accommodating and personable, he even did offer some great dishes. First we shared the brusssel sprouts, which were recommended and very delicious. Mom had the single crab cake and she said her dinner was great! I had the pork ribeye with posted pork ribeye with potatoes and asparagus, divine! After dinner we shared an apple cheesecake but at Sean’s suggestion we put raspberry sauce on it. It was lovely! I would surely recommend the Hunt Room to anyone. Enjoy!

Our dinner surpassed our expectations! We were warmly greeted by the hostess to a warm roaring fire. We were seated in a cozy booth and our waiter came right over to greet us. Our food was amazing! Husband had the crab cake app, yum, and lobster Mac and cheese. I had the fried shrimp and it was the best we have ever had, my husband has to try since I was raving about them. Thank you for such an awesome meal!!
