Heerlijk klein, knus Italiaans restaurant in hartje Amsterdam, met authentieke Italiaanse kok en bediening. Je merkt de passie, de ziel en proeft de zaligheid die zij in hun gerechten stoppen. De bediening en service is top. Zijn al oaar keer eerder geweest, kwaliteit blijft van hoog niveau en uuh! het wordt n beetje een vaste prik om daar te eten, wanneer wij in de stad zijn.

Ein authentisches Lokal mit sehr gutem Essen. Die weibliche Bedienung war deutlich organisierter als der Mann im Service, beide aber sehr bemüht und fleißig. Ein echter Geheimtipp, wenn man gutes, italienisches Essen genießen möchte. Auch für vegetarische und vegane Ernährung gibt es hier ein gutes und schmackhaftes Angebot. Wir haben uns in der "lauschigen" Atmosphäre sehr wohlgefühlt und es durfte gelacht werden.

We arrived within the reservation window, but the restaurant had given away our table. I had a party of 6, including 2 customers. I was embarrassed that we couldn’t be seated. The owner offered no explanation and no apology. The restaurant was small and crowded. Some of my other colleagues just happened to be in the restaurant and stayed to have their meal. They said the food was terrible, as was the service. We found another Italian restaurant nearby, Sardegna, which was outstanding, and we had a great meal. I don’t recommend that anyone go to Il Boccalino EVER! Hopefully, they will go out of business and quit wreaking havoc on Amsterdam’s dining public.

We were travelling and we’re staying in Dam square where everything seems a bit pricey so we decided to venture out 15 minutes to your restaurant that had great reviews …. Now we know why !! Thank you for cooking us a great home cooked meal in a lovely quiet atmosphere! We are from Canada and love friendly people and great service , you provided it all and then some ! Well done ❤️

Great Italian food at a good value in Amsterdam. Convenient location and cozy interior. Bottle of red wine we received was too warm and had to request ice for it. Service was attentive at times but restaurant is generally understaffed. Overall we had a good dining experience.

We were in Amsterdam for two nights. The first night we ate at II Boccalino was such an amazing experience that we went back the second night which is unheard of us while traveling, but this place was one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever experienced. The Chefs special was amazing as well as the other dishes we tried. The owner was so attentive. The second night he had made us a large Tiramisu for six for us at no charge and he shared a shot of liqueur with us. I can’t wait to travel back again for another night of amazing food.

The food was excellent - and the homemade Tiramisu was the best I have ever had! This small family restaurant was a great find for us, as tourists who wanted a small casual and affordable place to have Italian!

Food was great but the experience ended strangely when the waiter asked us for cash (despite having done credit cards for others) and when we replied we had none he said that his charge machine rejected all four of our separate cards (and two of mine). We ended up paying with collected US dollars. It seems to me that it was bear closing and they just wanted the off the books cash.
