Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, il Carciofo is a Roman Italian restaurant drawing inspiration from the restaurants and markets in one of Chef Joe's favorite cities, Rome.     Went opening week and everything we ordered was delicious. The food was truly almost identical to the food I’ve had in Rome. Great service as well from the whole staff. Highly recommend!

    We had an amazing experience at il Carciofo! Of course the food is delicious and the drinks are great, both are outstanding. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and fun! The atmosphere is cool and comfortable, the music is great and the noise level is perfect. We will definitely become regulars!

    Was seated promptly. Later reservation but the restaurant was still relatively crowded. First course we had the Calamari and Ragu. Calamari was a stand out dish. We enjoyed the pesto gnocchi and Pork Brodo for mains. We were mistakenly sent the steak instead of the pork. Was promptly replaced but were given the steak while we waited on the pork. Steak was odd. Fish sauce and Honey made for a very sweet dish. Kinda threw us off, but the steak was perfectly cooked. The flavor profiles were just a bit strange. The Pork was fantastic with a very nice crust on the exterior. Beautiful sauce as well. Side of the potatoes was superb. Left full and satisfied. Service was average but prompt. A couple of mistakes throughout were noticeable. Steak as noted before, as well as a wrong drink order. Table was poorly cleaned before we were seated with several leftover spots of sauce and miscellaneous food marks. Clearing+resetting was prompt and efficient. Will return.

    Amazing vibes, amazing dishes, and top notch service. We honestly weren’t surprised by this but are always highly impressed by the level of perfection at Chef Joe’s restaurants. He even stopped by our table to say hello! We’re already planning our next dinner date. A MUST!

    We’re coming back with friends ASAP! We had the cacio, tagliatelle, abbacchio, vitello and pesce in guazzetto.
