Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. We had a delightful dinner here tucked in a quiet corner (as requested). Our server, Angel, took wonderful care of us. I loved the bolognese pasta. Perfect. The menu is full of variety including fish dishes, octopus, lamb etc. The ambience is warm and modern.

Il Corso is always consistently great. We love the atmosphere in the bar. We had the Chicken Marsala and the pasta with mushrooms and sausage and both were delicious. It’s a local restaurant group and they do a great job with service.

The food, ambience and service was beyond my expectations. I had the Risotto Pescatore and it was delicious, just enough seafood that it didn’t overwhelm the delicious tomatoe based sauce and rice. The service was excellent and they did a great job surprising my friend with a complimentary birthday dessert.

Food was outstanding, service was marginal. We had to get up from the table twice to find our waiter. No enthusiasm, no smile from the waiter.

Our server was amazing. Three of our party of 5 are vegetarian or vegan. Our server described how the chef could prepare a couple of different dishes to accommodate us. The food was so tasty! We will definitely return.

Very nice dining experience. Good food, very good service, nice room, and for as busy as it was, the noise level was very manageable. Very reasonable prices, too. We thoroughly enjoyed it

Enjoyed our evening, great variety choices on the menu for our entire group. Prices were reasonable. All five of us were happy with our choices, food was served hot and in a timely fashion. Servers were all pleasant. Nice atmosphere and it was nice to be indoors as it was a cool night, on a warm evening they offer a nice outdoor patio. They also had a great wine list.

Food was excellent, the restaurant is beautiful but the best is the service - we sat at the bar and bartender Eduardo was outstanding. I wish we had his service in south Orange County !

Risotto was not what risotto should be. Panna cotta was gummy and overall not edible.
