Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. Start your meal off with an Italian style inspired cocktail and remember to save room for all of your favorite Italian homemade desserts to complement your dinning experience.

Although the food was fresh and hot it had a very average flavor profile and was actually quite bland. With so many dining options in Palm Springs, I am in no hurry to come back.

Wonderful service beginning from the host to the server and food runners. The margarita pizza, lasagna, and pasta with garlic oil were all hits at the table and the espresso martini was just right. One of my favorite go to restaurants in Palm Springs!

Average food at best. Veal piccata with brown gravy? Lobster pasta was pretty tasteless. The blue cheese & walnut salad was good. Very average bread. Overall I’d skip this for something better.

Thank you for your subjective review. We do not serve Veal Piccata at this restaurant, what you ordered was the Veal Saltimbocca alla Romana, there is a significant difference between both traditional Italian dishes. The uninformed description of our Brown Sauce as gravy, seems rather rushed and distracted.

Il Corso was fantastic and we have been there many many times. The only problem this time was, we had 7 PM reservations and we weren’t seated till just before 7:30. That’s never happened in all the times I’ve been there But the meal was absolutely delicious and the service by the waiter was fantastic It’s just the wait time to get our table

It was like sitting in a sports bar…not much for ambiance and too loud to have a conversation. Service was so slow; we left after an hour and half after finally getting our entree. It was bad way to end a wonderful week on Palm Springs.

Been here many times and as usual the food was Very good. However we waited almost 35 minutes after we were seated to place a food order.. only after asking three times. The server came to take drink orders rather quickly but left before everyone could place one. And struggled with our one diner with food allergies, despite being alerted to it on the reservation and having had no problems with this before on prior visits. And it took another hour to get our food. I had picked this place and brought friends and was super disappointed in our experience. The restaurant seemed very understaffed.
