Authentic Italian dishes focused on taste and quality, accompanied by the freshest signature cocktails and wine. Enjoy a romantic walk on the beach, watching the sunset, followed by a delicious casual meal at Il Farro, named for the hearty and delicious whole grain, farro. We import ours directly from Italy, where it is farmed organically, low carb, low gluten, high in fiber and, best of all, tastes AMAZING!
We also feature fabulous seafood dishes , like linguine del Pescatore , fresh halibut, salmon, mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari and more. Other dishes include steak, veal chicken, Finish your meal with one of our homemade desserts from tiramisu and gelato.
Established in 1993 Il Farro Restaurant sits in the heart of the Newport Beach Peninsula, right by the Newport Pier. Its cozy Italian atmosphere and its family-oriented service give our customers one of the best Italian experiences in all Orange County.

Great food and service Very authentic delish food we had farro risotto primavera and Bronzino w delish capers sauce just like it’s supposed to be served I felt I was transported to Italy Great Italian vino went well w it and home made bread w garlic olive oil Don’t forget to say hello to the owner Very friendly and a must return place on my journey

Everything was good. Our server was very efficient and worked hard. My only complaint was the lighting. A bit bright and I asked for them to turn it down twice in which they did do.

Very casual to the point that I was questioning the decision to dine there. That changed quickly because of the prompt service and delicious food. Great pizza and handmade pasta. We will be back..

Food was the most authentic Italian I had in awhile with their homemade lobster ravioli and sauces they have for their other dishes. Pizza was fantastic as well . Service was friendly as well.

A small restaurant which was relatively empty. Suited us fine since we had the attention of the owner and waiter. They made excellent recommendations. We had several courses. Bruschetta was excellent as was the Caesar salad. Veal piccata was excellent and the papparadelle with meatballs was good. We would definitely return.

Food excellent! Service fantastic. Waiter had good knowledge and understanding of the menu. The limoncello frozen drink was superb!! I had 2! I would be back if I wasn’t in another state.

Il Farro is a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or a day at the beach. The food is delicious and plentiful and the staff cordial and attentive.

Just in Newport at the Beach. This Italian restaurant offers amazing food and service. Chef O runs a tight ship... that means your food will be amazing as well as hiring great people. Our pasta was all homemade, incredible! I had the short rib tortellini, another in our party had pesto pasta with shrimp... my husband ordered pizza. ALL delicious. (Sometimes you feel like you might not get a great meal so close to the boardwalk... like maybe too touristy... but no...we had such a delicious meal!!) Our server, Kaimana, was VERY attentive and treated us like family. Aloha! Our dining experience was a pleasure. Chef O, we will be back! :-)
