Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience.     When I made the reservation I had requested a table with a view for our 30th anniversary. I made the reservation way in advance. We got seated at a small table next to where they wrap their silverware next to the kitchen doors. I asked if we could have a better table. There was a table that just needed clearing with a great view but instead we got just a table with a view across from the view. Very disappointed. Service was good, food was just ok. My salad I couldn’t finish because for some strange reason it was salty and there were 3 large clumps of Gorgonzola. The chicken Parmesan was okay, some bites were really salty and other bites had no seasoning. My husband got a special which had lobster, mussels and shrimp, the lobster was over cooked but he liked the rest of the dish besides the lobster. I was really expecting better especially for our 30th anniversary, they did give us a happy anniversary note.

    Our food made us sick and the hostess weren’t helpful and we’re going to make us wait for almost an hour for our reservation time. Server was nice but $36 for pasta plate with added chicken is ridiculous and it was dry and make us sick. I’ve been going to here for years and it’s been slowly decreasing quality with food and service.
