   Our second trip to Il Massimo and it had a bit of a rocky start. We arrived early and were promptly seated. After 30 minutes of waiting for wait staff to visit the table, we got up and went to find help. Another 10 minutes and finally the manager arrived. Apologetic that there was a miscommunication amongst wait staff, and free appetizers were offered. Very thoughtful given that we had been seated for nearly forty minutes. Our waitress arrived and promptly took our orders. Service was wonderful. The food was delicious and the wine was delightful and moderately marked up. Overall, another solid effort. Other than the misstep at the beginning, we were very pleased and the manager made things right. We'll go back, for sure. Cheers!

   We were initially very impressed with our waiter because he openly recommended some menu selections while suggesting that others were not as well liked. Unfortunately, two of us did not order the lemon chicken that we were going to order based on his thumbs down and ordered two of the dishes he said were his favorites on the menu. Perhaps it was due just to his taste, but neither of us liked either of the dishes he had recommended. When I gave him feedback about my dinner, he spoke with the manager and did take 50% off of the meal, but it did not make up for not enjoying the meal. My friend said nothing to him but left half of her dinner on the plate. We were a party of six and the other four people, who had not listened to his recommendations, were satisfied with their choices. I had ordered the fruite del mar and questioned the thickness of the sauce. He said he would be sure to tell the chef to make the sauce thick, but when it came, it was very soupy and had absolutely no taste. :(

   We repeatedly are seated at tiny 2 seat booths with little to no room to sit comfortably (and we are average size people). Server was not particularly attentive and we waited quite some time to get a second glass of wine -so we asked for the check at that point as well. We were never given bread and did not see our server again after ordering to ask for it. Finally we asked one of the staff delivering meals to tables and got bread literally with our food right behind it!!! So we sat with a glass of wine for a half hour just waiting for dinner. The meals were fine. Not a great dining experience all around and we dine out several times a week at nice restaurants. This was disappointing.

   My wife, Susan, and I were looking forward to a delicious Italian meal for our Thanksgiving celebration Thursday evening. The staff greeted us cordially and promptly had us seated. We ordered cocktails. I was a little surprised when our server gave us menus offering a prix fix turkey dinner and an a la carte selection of dishes from the regular Italian menu; then it dawned on me that the management would have to limit one selection of dishes to have another for the holiday. We shared a lovely mixed salad with parmigiana cheese and a lite dressing. Susan had tasty scallops risotto and I had fruitti di mare rigatoni which was tasty and plentiful. Our only suggestions would be notifying patrons of the limited menu and to serve the cocktails more promptly; Susan’s drink was surprisingly salty and she did not finish switching to wine. Our server seemed to notice but did not comment but neither did we.

   Everyone at Il Massimo was so friendly and welcoming for our Thanksgiving dinner. The food was good with lots of interesting options. All of us had different types of ravioli -- ricotta, squash and fig. My husband expressed a wish to just taste the duck so I ordered the duck confit and offered tastes to everyone in our party.

   Love this restaurant. Everyone knew what they were doing and service was efficient but not rushed. Food was excellent. Price was reasonable given the quality and quantity of the food. Will be back for sure.

   The atmosphere and service was great. Everyone was very kind. Unfortunately the food didn’t match. We didn’t enjoy our meal, other than the meatballs.
