Immigrant Food at Planet Word offers an ambitious, fun menu that celebrates immigrant street food in a cozy, intimate setting. The menu combines Immigrant Food’s traditional casual fusion lunch menu and switches to an “approachable chic” gastronomic experience in the evening with an immigrant-inspired cocktail menu and an eclectic wine list that highlights emerging international regions.

The popular lunch offering includes bowls, salads and sandwiches for a refined yet casual dining experience. House-made drinks such as the best-selling Mint Limonana or Agua de Jamaica offer a refreshing option.

Best happy hour in town! Cocktails for $10-$13, wines, sangria and street food mezze plates - all under $10! French onion dip and chips, hummus, french fries, Venezuelan tequeños, Shrimp Ceviche, among others.

    One of the best meals we’ve had in DC! Went for lunch. Ordered the Mint Limonana specialty drinks. Was green in color, so was a little apprehensive it would be too mint forward. Not to worry! Was beautifully balanced and a great complement to our meals. I had the Persian Plants and Peas Bowl. Hubby had the Mumbai Mariachi Bowl. Both were artfully created and delicious. Every bite of the Persian Bowl was balanced with a different surprise; the crunch of the rice, the sweetness of the goji berries. The dressing worked nicely with the ingredients in that it didn’t dominate. The Mariachi bowl had some spice and heat with the heat sneaking up while enjoying each forkful. We love a little heat, but it may be too much for those that aren’t used to it. But the creamy dressing with what tastes like smoked chipotles was to die for. This was my second time there. I definitely look forward to going back again!

    Immigrant Food has creative drinks, food, and a great atmosphere. A little pricey for the serving size but I recommend trying it out.

    Great service and an interesting and delicious menu. Big going away party on the bar side made it louder than I like but the Singapore Sling made up for it!
