Imrie's was dreadful! It was just like being in a big barn and so noisy that we couldn't have a conversation without shouting. The seating was horrible as just great long benches which would be suitable fir about 10 people. It was uncomfortable, devoid of atmosphere or ambience and we would NEVER eat there again In fact it was provably the worst dining experience we've ever had. So my advice, if your considering making a dinner reservation, is....DON'T!

Having looked at the on-line menu and seen things such as Sirloin and Venison we were disappointed to see none of that’s available…only burgers or loaded fries. The only dessert choice is hot brownie or ice cream. The food is good and the loaded fries are well and truly loaded. Not the place for a quiet meal as there is a pool table in one area and table football in another so very noisy with lots of children . Very different from what you expect from the photos of Lunan House.

Not quite what we expected when booked a night in the house, was expecting a more tranquil feel. It’s great for campers. The staff are lovely and great service

Lovely place to go and it used to be our local but never know when it’s actually open anymore. Nice food and portions but there was no follow up with if we needed more drinks, if the food was alright and there were 5 people eating. We were just left and totally “forgotten” about. Even paying the bill was a problem.

Food excellent . Our waiter was very helpful. Setting beautiful. HOWEVER we waited 50 minutes to receive our food as kitchen was prioritising walk in orders in the brasserie area whilst we had been allocated a table in main hotel. Only one waiter serving 6-7 tables and he had to go collect drinks from the brasserie for the tables . When approached to ask about our food and assistance for the waiter, the manager was not interested and simply said that they were helping him by pouring the drinks and he was dealing with an event in the brasserie ( which we also had tickets for) Our bill was incorrect and included items we had ordered but not received. The event itself was enjoyable although started almost 2hrs later than advertised . Would we return? Perhaps

First visit won’t be our last. Great staff with a can do attitude, welcoming smiles & excellent service. Simple menu but excellent value Lively atmosphere Child friendly Relaxed & casual Dog friendly

This place is almost really good! Unfortunately it just doesn’t manage that on just about everything. Frustrating, as it’s the sort of place I would love to recommend to people as a hidden gem but sadly it seems that it’s hidden to the extent that almost nobody goes. Has real potential though…..

We visited as part of the My Angus experience week. Loaded fries were excellent but the room was very cold, we were told the heating was malfunctioning but it meant we ate and left as it was very cold - it was March and it had been pouring rain all day. I'm sure with more heat and more diners the atmosphere would be very different. Loved the eclectic mix of nick backs around the room and the flooring is fantastic - recycled school gym flooring - well done

Unfortunately our booking was accepted but when we arrived we were informed the restaurant was closed which was very disappointing as the booking was for my daughter’s birthday. Luckily another restaurant managed to squeeze us in.
