Opened in 2011, Indigenous has earned a reputation for being an inspirational and educational restaurant. For years, Indigenous has been known as one of America’s top restaurants, renowned for its passion for food, the community, and the planet. Indigenous’ menu of seasonal American cuisine changes progressively throughout the year based on peak ingredient availability. With a focus on sustainable seafood, we work closely with local fisherman, artisans, and farmers to maintain the highest quality. At Indigenous, we are always working our best to create a better food system. Owner Chef Steve Phelps has been a James Beard Foundation Semi Finalist for Best Chef South in 2014 & 2015, an Ambassador for Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force, and a founding member and Chef for the EDF Coalition for Sustainable Aquaculture.

Would definitely go back. Small and intimate setting. Just seated next to a loud table with someone who had a loud obnoxious laugh. Food was excellent. Just had 2 rich dishes back to back. I had asked for a recommendation and would have preferred the second dish to be less rich. Still delicious though.

A great experience with delicious food presented beautifully. Loved that the menu was not too big but had great choices. Service was great too, everyone was very pleasant and knowledgeable! We are from Europe and to find food so delicious with this quality close to home is exciting. We will be back. Thank you ☺️

Indigenous continues to amaze me. Chef always has a few new entrees to keep those of us that dine here often surprised. Excellent meal service and ambiance.

Outstanding food and service! This was our first time here and we will definitely be going back. We tried several appetizers and 4 different entrees. The plating is beautiful and everything so delicious. Thank you for making our family dinner out so wonderful.

Only our second visit, we now luv, luv Indigenous. We were greeted promptly, seated promptly and serviced promptly by polite, friendly and attentive staff. The pickled vegetables were delightful, the burger with the duck fat roasted potatoes were delicious and vanilla bean ice cream was scrumptious. We will absolutely, positively both recommend and return. Thx…

Our second time here. We come for our anniversary and are never disappointed. If you're on the fence, I assure you it's work the drive/time/whatever. Just go.

Just a beautiful quaint setting, fantastic food and a perfect server ...charming but not invasive. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had. Oh,we ate outside.

Excellent dining experience! Service was top notch, knowledgeable and friendly staff. The mushroom bisque was the best, followed by the rare ahi tuna entree! 5 stars on the entire dining experience!!!

A true find for my family last night. The carefully crafted menu features interesting dishes and changes often we were told. Very few staples on it. We had 3 apps we shared and entrees and 3 different desserts. All were very good, some outstanding. They only serve beer and wine. My bourbon drinkers were sad but survived. Overall, a very nice out. Parking can be tough but available a block or so away.
