Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. The creation of the Matinee Performance, the regal guests Shires' hosted, an unsolved murder and other noteworthy events that took place at the original Shires' Gardens, are an inspiration to our program that we look forward to sharing with you.

Scenery is amazing, the staff was excellent. Now for the critique- the crab cakes were a bit salty, the sauce was really good and sort of balanced out the saltiness of the crab cake, but they are salty. The salmon was exquisite. Likely the best salmon I’ve ever had. Compliments to the chef on the salmon.

Such a gem of a restaurant in downtown Cincy - great atmosphere, great view, great food in a cool building. Staff was the right amount of attentive. Having taken friends, family and colleagues for different occasions, it always delivers on a great experience.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the drinks and sides but the filet left much to be desired. We went on a Sunday night and at one point we were the only people in the restaurant. The service was great and I appreciate the bartenders demeanor. I think if we returned we will just get drinks and skip the dinner.

I wanted to try this place for a long time. It’s an interesting concept being on the top of the building. It has some really cool outdoor seating and a beautiful decor inside. Unfortunately the food is just mediocre. The only thing that was actually above average was the fried green tomatoes. The shrimp and scallops did not work at all. No was the mushroom pasta which was super greasy. Also stay away from the crabcakes. On top of it everything is overpriced for the amount and quality of food. Perfect spot if you wanna just grab drinks and have a great view and a very interesting environment. But the food is just not worth going for.

We booked a rooftop igloo experience and the ambiance itself was lovely, however our igloo did not zip up all the way and the zipper was broken, causing a cold draft to consistently come into our igloo making the experience itself very subpar! We booked for a birthday and it ended up being extremely frustrating because we spent the whole time trying to block the draft and shivering. They called me before our reservation to upgrade us to the igloo from a greenhouse because apparently they lost some panels and it would have been cold - but they should have also checked the quality and experience of the igloo and notified us ahead of time as well. Additionally our server got one of our drink orders wrong and did not offer a replacement. The food was also absolutely not worth the money - half of us ordered the salmon which was supposed to be the “best”, but came our charred tasting. Another girl order the pork chops and they were extremely dry, so much so that she left more than half her entree uneaten. Definitely not worth the money and hugely disappointed. Do not come here if you’re expecting good service.

We have a wonderful an great time, me and my friends have been having a great experience together, The food, the service and atmosphere was perfect for a great time, with friends , family or romantic moments!! Totally recommend!!

Food and service was great - heated greenhouses were not as warm as anticipated. If you dine in one in the winter - you will still need to wear a coat.

Ambience here is really cool. Kind of a speakeasy/classy library vibe. We didn’t have a table with a view, but I’m sure it would be stellar. Service was great and when we dined it wasn’t very busy. We ordered the chefs feats for two but found the meat lacking seasoning and the beef cuts overcooked to what we ordered. For sides we got the Mac and cheese and French fries which may have been the best part.
