Insalata's Restaurant is moving into it's 28th year of the community minded restaurants in San Anselmo. Insalata's receives Bib Gourmand from Michelin for it's 15th year in a row.
Our goal at Insalata's has always been to bring luscious Mediterranean food, gracious service and a warm atmosphere to our diners. For over 28 years we have shared this experience of intimate dining and joyful celebrations in a variety of ways. First and foremost as a fine dining restaurant with our beautiful private Siena room in which to sit and relax and enjoy a meal. We also offer take out dining for those days when time is of the essence, or catered affairs where we bring great food and staff into your home or venue. Our guests have become family and we have grown together in the community in which we all live and work. Everyone at Insalata's is extremely proud to be a part of this extended "village" family.

The Fresh favorable tasting foods. Ice tea was so refreshing home made daily no sugar needed! I had a combo syrian chicken fattoush salad with fennel apple soup. Fantastic!!!! Desert Coconut Chocolate gluten Free yummy! Service superb! Great dinning experience. My friend had the same salad with Salmon. We both agree we’ve never been disappointed dinning at Insalata’s.

Unfortuntely, the booth behind us had 2 people who spoke VERY LOUDLY. Then a 3rd person arrived. Sounded like a party. Thank goodness food arrived at their table and filled their mouths. Had I been solo I would have moved. I had an elderly guest who does not move that easily, so we stayed put. Food is delicious, as always!

Our group of 8 was celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday. We had appetizers, cocktails and beer, many different main courses, dessert, coffee and tea. EVERYTHING was great, the service was prompt and super attentive! They decorated the banana cake for my Mom and lit a candle on it. The evening was perfect! It was my first time dining at this restaurant, and definitely not the last!

I haven't been here for years and my boyfriend had never been, so we went for a Sunday Brunch. We waited so long for a server to come to the table that we decided that if nothing had happened in the next 5 minutes we would just leave. Our server finally showed up and seemed to be very nice. The person who brought the food also seemed to be very nice. Food is creative, serving size is generous, but there are lots of other good restaurants in Marin we've enjoyed more, so this may have been a one-time experience for us. They have a take-out prepared food sections that looks very nice, but was too busy to bother with.

Insalata’s used to be very good! Our experience today was just okay. It took a very long time to get our meal especially since the restaurant wasn’t crowded….. And, maybe we all ordered wrong, but the food was just mediocre for the price point.

Our banquette seats were perfect for privacy and conversation. Our waiter was excellent. The cocktails were beautifully prepared. The tagliatelle puttanesca was superb. An early reservation makes for a quieter and more attentive experience. All and all, a perfect evening.
