Izzy’s on the Peninsula is a second-generation, family-owned dining destination that has become a beloved neighborhood establishment since its flagship location opened in 1987.

Izzy’s dynamic menu celebrates traditional steakhouse fare, featuring fresh interpretations of the classics. You'll find a selection of steaks & chops, local seafood, regional wines, and inventive cocktails.

Fresh off of a year-long renovation, Izzy's showcases a new design inspired by our rich history; along with additional private dining spaces, a reimagined bar & lounge space, and a brand new garden for outdoor dining.

The Golden Retriver of fine dining…friendly & reliably excellent! The waiter was patient and paced the check-ins so not to be intrusive. Our steak was cooked perfectly. (Also, highly recommend the cooked prawns!) Finally, we sat in the main dining area. Although busy, the noise level was livable. Beware to bring a jacket or sweater, they keep the temperature frosty. However, the host made an adjustment after one request. We’re coming back!

Staff, food and drinks were fantastics, not the first time that I have gone to Izzy's and won't be my last.

I have eaten at Izzy’s for years and enjoyed it. Something is in the air at this restaurant these days. I went on Sunday (first seating at 430 pm) with a lady friend. We were the ONLY persons in the restaurant. As I am deaf, I asked the macho man host to seat us at a booth so we could sit next to each other not across from each other. He flatly refused. He marched us to the bar (not as comfortable as the dining room) and said we could eat there because the noise was lower. I again patiently explained my disability and again he quibbled with me and refused to seat us in a booth that permitted us to sit next to each other. We left and went to San Mateo Prime in downtown San Mateo. She had the steak and I had the prime rib. We had a delicious meal at San Mateo Prime. I will return again and again to San Mateo Prime. I will NOT return to Izzy’s.

They were very accommodating when we arrived early for our reservation. We had 3 different steak options and a trout dinner. All of them were distinct and delicious.

The filet mignon is unbelievable. About the best I've ever had. But the sides--not so good. They don't fluff the baked potato before adding toppings so everything just melts off. The Izzy potatoes are a mess--greasy and unappetizing. Ask for a naked baked potato and a steak and you'll have an amazing meal!

First off, when making my reservation. I requested a 4 top booth so my wife and I could sit together as it is date night. The manager tried to sit us at a 1/2 booth, 2 top table. Which means we would have to sit across from each other. Also, I'm the kind of person who likes to purchase lots of food, making the table extremely small and unable to do that. So, I requested the manager to change our location to a 4 top. He sat us in the bar, expecting us to be happy with the world's smallest table in a booth, and the table was shaped oddly, so we were unable to get both of our plates on one side and had to scrunch in. She ordered the mushroom Bolognese, and I had prime rib. The Bolognese noodles we're undercooked and still kind of hard. The prime rib was pretty good. Our server only came by a couple of times. We had to wait a long time to request anything or refills. I knew it would take forever if I ordered dessert, so we decided to pass. It took another twenty minutes before we received our bill. The price wasn't too bad compared to a lot of other date nights I've been on, but I did make a note on their copy that said I was SAD! :-( WE WON'T BE GOING BACK THERE ANYMORE!

Rude service. Brought out the completely wrong meal and acted like we had changed our order. Had to ask for items twice and in the end we gave up and dealt with it in order to get the meal over with as soon as possible.

This is our second time back since the remodel. Our friend from out of town was visiting and so we brought him here. We were excited that they introduced a Sunday Three Course Prime Rib Dinner too. Unfortunately, they ran out of Rare and Medium Rare Prime Rib and the Cream Spinach tasted off this time. Perhaps demand was higher than expected because of the introduction of the Three Course Prime Rib Dinner as service was off. We do miss the Classic Izzy's Local Neighborhood Vibe and Culture. It would be nice if Izzy's Classic Menu returned. The introduction of the Three Course Prime Rib Dinner which comes with two sides is a start. Maybe they could make the last week of the month Classic Izzy's Menu Week.
