   Wonderful service, and great food. It is above our every date night budget but definitely in the special occasion budget! Next time our Spanish and Chinese foodie friends come in town we will definitely be taking them to Jaji.

   The food was delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors. However, the lamb shank sauce was a bit of a letdown. It tasted too similar to the sauce at Parche, which was a bit disappointing. Another issue I had was the size of the pita bread. It was way too small for a Middle Eastern restaurant. I expected a bit more substance and flavor. On the positive side, the cocktails were amazing. I was really looking forward to the pistachio dessert, but the fudge on the bottom layer was way too thick. It overpowered the dish and was way too much. I would have loved more Kunefe crisps instead. Overall, I think this restaurant has a great start. There are just a few minor tweaks they need to make. Dim the lights in the back room to create a more intimate atmosphere. Consider adding some acoustic music or artwork to the walls or drapery. The room was quite loud, especially with a full communal table in the back.

   Great new restaurant! Highly recommend- very good service and food was excellent, dessert was fabulous- must get the chocolate one with the pistachio ice cream! So good! Definitely check this place out - they are even doing a prefix menu for Oakland restaurant week which is a great deal for a ton of food! The owner/chef is so nice and even came to our table (and everyone’s table) to check on us! Don’t miss out on this great restaurant!
